There are many flights between London and Dalaman. There is no need to worry. It is not only domestic flights.

I flew from Manchester to Antalya on 21 Dec last year and back on 4 Jan, both with Turkish Airlines. Unless it's changed, they are only domestic flights so you have to go via Istanbul. Just happen to have the details handy! The times of my flights were:
Left Manchester 13.25, Arrived Istanbul 19.20
Left Istanbul 23.55, Arrived Antalya 01.10
Left Antalya 05.05, Arrived Istanbul 06.20
Left Istanbul 10.20, Arrived Manchester 12.25

I found a flight on the internet into Dalaman but when I rang to book it, it wasn't flying!!

Then I did it all again on 24 Mar into Dalaman and the same applied, via Istanbul, but I had to come back from Antalya because there were no flights from Dalaman. The times were very similar to above.

Luckily my b/f drove the 3-4 hours to pick me up and drop me off again at Antalya. It was a long day but it is do'able (and worth it when you get there!).

I timed my flights to have as little time as possible 'hanging around' Istanbul airport. I managed to find a very nice green leather sofa in a bar that's very comfortable to 'nap' on and I made it my regular spot each time!

Anyway, hope the info is useful and if you do manage to get a flight direct to Dalaman, will you let me know cos it looks like I'll be going again this year (20/21 Dec). Thanks.

Good luck x

Hello Babs

Thanks for all your information.

I have booked through Holidays4U. It is Gatwick to Dalaman on 23rd December and I am going for two weeks. On my reservation form, it states that I leave Gatwick and 9.50 pm and arrive Dalaman 3.55 am so I don't think that it will be via anywhere.

I think that as of this year Dalaman is open to flights twice a week. Can anyone confirm this???

The website is www.h4u.co.uk. They aren' the best airways to fly with but they are cheap and the only ones that fly direct to Dalaman.

Have a look and let me know what you find.

I have emailed H4U to confirm this and will let you know what they reply.

Good Luck.

Hi I tried to get a flight into Dalaman for 2nd December and I had many problems when I went to book the flight they said it had been withdrawn. My man suggested I try flying into Izmir as they have more flights, again this was very difficult. I have managed to get a flight with Lufthansa with a stop over in Munich which was cheaper than flying into Dalaman on a scheduled flight. Flying into Izmir means my man has to drive 200km to pick me up. I think they have flights into Dalaman with charter airline just oveer the Christmas period, I looked to fly out after Christmas but the first charter flight I could find was February 10th.

Hiya all.

I just rang Holidays 4u and the assured me that this is a direct flight with Onur Air from Gatwick to Dalaman.

The cost of the flight's were £299 including tax, so quite expensive as this is just for flights!!!!!

Well worth it though if I can see my boyfriend at Christmas.

Woohoo Marmaris here I come

Good luck everyone flying to Turkey at Christmas. I hope you all have a fab time

While we are on the subject of flights, does anyone know of any direct flights from anywhere in the Uk to Izmir in the winter? I have tried a few companies online but they are not direct.

Winter flights to Izmir in my experience are always via Istanbul.
