Quoting susie k:

I've noticed that in a lot of the supermarkets, they sell Kofte mix but they advise to use half soya as this is the healthier option!
The Turkish men aren't too keen but their wives use it anyway and most of the time the men don't notice its being used!
Apart from being healthier its cheaper! So as long as you don't tell them its a good way of helping their chlorestral levels!

I know the köfte mix.. but what is 'half soya'? I only know soya as in a liquid version and don't really understand how to make köfte with it? I love köfte and Kadir taught me how to make it.. so if i can learn how to take care of his cholesterol

Soya includes protein. So when soya is under pressure, it becomes meat. Herbbal meat

Also, use KETEN TOHUMU = flax seed to lower cholestorol. You can buy it at all the baharatçý shops. Sprinkle some on cereal, or mix it into yogurt or puding.

Flax is great!

I use very little unfermented soy products in the food I prepare. It has been found to not be such a miracle food as some have thought. It seems the fermentation process increases it´s digestability.

The hazards of soy...

One can use quinoa for protiens, beans and grains instead of soy.
