OK- I'm desperate. I have spent hours searching yahoo, google, alta vista et al...
for the English lyrics for Duman- Aman, Aman.

I am making a major presentation tomorrow to the Turkish sponsors who paid for 6 teachers (including myself) to Turkey this summer.

This music (rhythm, beat etc...) is so captivating and perfect for my slide show.

Please tell me - is it offensive in any way?

I don't know what the lyrics mean- but might they "put off" or cause my sponsers to feel badly? (They are older established fellows)

I still have a window of opportunity to change the song.

Thank You!
Christine

Let me write Turkish lyrics, maybe it will be useful for the explanations...

Nereye gider başını alıp sorarsın
Kimbilir durmadan nasıl susarsın
Bilmeden boşuna atıp tutarsın
Su gibi akıp geçer zaman

Gezdin tozdun aman aman aman
Sazdın sözdün aman aman aman
Giderek üzdün bizi zaman

Yazdın çizdin aman aman aman
İncecik izdin aman aman aman
Sıraya dizdin bizi zaman

Hep kaçıp yeni bir adım atarken
Dibine kadar çileye batıp çıkarken
İçine atıp atıp yoluna basıp giderken
Su gibi akıp geçer zaman

Thanks caliptrix! I've been hunting down these lyrics for some time, to no avail.
I actually did use the song in the presentation, as well as another (slower/traditional song- recommended on this site)

Dear Caliptrix,

I will write a small note on your site this weekend when I have a break from work.

For what it is worth- at least 50 students I teach have downloaded this song to their i-pods as their #1 favorites.

When we are researching in class, or drawing and can listen to music, they beg me to play this one on my computer through our sound system. I have printed the lyrics in English for them upon request, and tonight at my parent conferences, parents complained that they are sick and tired of hearing this song blasting in their home.

Yeah Duman!

Thank you,
Christine
