The word sağol has many different meanings than just thank you, what are they?

Lady in red: I believe that"Sagol" is also used when one wants to turn something down or refuse to buy something from a vendor. Wish we would get some insights of our friends here!

Oh yes I know that one - but you say 'Sağ ol (or sağ olun), teşekkurler' meaning 'thanks but no thanks' - it's a polite way of refusing something'. 'Teşekkurler' usually means 'no thanks' as well - so if you are offered something you want remember not to say that!

Me personally? I usually say something like 'Beğenmedım' or 'param yok'. I can't say that I have ever been that pestered to buy anything - maybe I look poor!!

Looking poor,ha, ha, ha. Best way to travel is to look inconspicuous, in humble, casual clothes. I am a nature girl anyhow.
