British Police will Learn Turkish
By Anka, London

In a step to fight crime by gaining the confidence of Turks living in the UK, British police will be taught Turkish as part of a new program called Operation Rhine.

This new initiative will give British officers a grounding in Turkish, the ability to liaise with Turkish counterparts abroad and help to build better relationships with the Turkish-speaking community and Turkish businessmen, a London newspaper reported.

If the initiative succeeds, it will play a vital role in helping police understand the community it patrols, and vice versa. This will hopefully lead to safer communities and less crime.

The police force wants to eliminate criminal and drug groups nestled in Turkish and Kurdish communities. It will encourage communities to trust the security force and realize that they do not have to resort to illegal means.

Can this realy be true?? British police learning turkish? what about all the jokes with stupid police officers?
maybe some will register on TC will make TC a safer place.. maybe some will become like moderatos .. for every swearing u get a ticket or something

haha thats ridiculous.. maybe they should sort out the english ones before they start on the turkish ones eh...

the police around here can all speak english, like the scum that is still walking free.. maybe they could use their englsh skills to sort them out...

but then again, if us turkish people are being such a nuisance and the police have to learn turkish, maybe we should give them my essay to read.. it may give them all some encouragement hehehe
