No trip to Giresun is complete without a boat ride to the island, situated around 1 nautical mile from the Black Sea Coast, the nly major island in the Black Sea. It offers a wealth of historic interest, too much to write here, dating back from pre-christian times. It is also supposed to offer a childless women fertility and rites are still carried out to this day (May 20th).
