Hakkari in the winter
Hakkari in the winter
Although there´s always snow to see on the mountain tops, the entire region is usually covered in snow from November to March or April. Heavy snowfall cause many problems as roads are closed and smaller water mains freeze due to the low temperatures, so people have to bring water into their homes from wherever they can find it.
