Gelibolu Harbour
Gelibolu Harbour
Part of the picturesque Gelibolu Harbour with fishermen repairing their nets. This town also has an excellent museum with displays about the local WW1 battles including historical military items.
It was the basis of the word "Gallipoli" which is used in the English version of identifying the WW1 campaign here. The Turks refer to it as the Çanakkale War. (Location: Gelibolu, in western Turkey)
