The countdown for “Marmaris Youth and Spring Festival“ has started, with festival enthusiasm spreading across the district. Approximately 1000 dancers and artists of 14 countries from four continents will participate in the festival from May 8-13, organized by Marmaris Municipality. The activities, starting with a procession reminiscent of the Rio Carnival, will also include popular Turkish musicians Hande Yener, Haluk Levent and Serdar Ortaç.The festival program will continue with the performances. During the opening procession, dancers from Hungary, Russia, Georgia, Turkish Cyprus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Ivory Coast, Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and Yakutsk from Northeastern Siberia will perform with the collaboration of local tradesmen, as well as hundreds of amateurs working in the district.
Vivacious Program:
During the festival, the streets of Marmaris will be enlivened by concerts, competitions, dance shows and swimsuit-bikini fashion shows, as well as sport and artistic activities. Competitions will be held for the best garden-balcony designs, photographs, caricatures, dogs, castles of sand and Marmaris-inspired jewelry. The works of German, Russian, Chilean and Turkish painters will be displayed. Pine honey and bee products and will be on display both for academicians and consumers.Concerts will start on the first days of the festival with Haluk Levent's performance on May 8. Hande Yener will take stage on May 11 and Serdar Ortaç will perform the final concert on May 13 at Atatürk Square.“Our aim is to serve the youth, the hope of our country, and Marmaris with a festival full of sports and fun, embroidered with the district's cultural elements,†said Marmaris Mayor Ali Acar.
