Ok, so it is an indication of negative behavior, then? worry, displease, bother...ect.

Hi

Literally canını sıkmak means "squeeze your life" or "squeeze your soul" ... a good metaphor for getting down or depressed about something.

can: life/soul
canın: your life/soul
canını: -ı ending added as the object of the verb
sıkmak: to squeeze

The non-literal meaning (colloquial) is above brilliantly explained by Kurt.

I am finding a lot of colloquial meanings in my husbands speech now that I am understand his spoken Turkish a little more. Right now it is my biggest struggle.
