Add Turkey Picture Snippet to Your Website

You have a website and you want to add snippets with pictures of Turkey that blend with your pages? You can add one or more snippets (square, up to size 145x145 pixels) to your site with a random picture from our collection of thousands of user-contributed images. You can customize the random picture snippet to fit your needs: define what to include or exclude at the category level or at the picture level.

Let's start with a simple example. The snippet below has the default background color white, it is fetched randomly from all the user-contributed pictures on our site, and the picture displayed changes every 5 minutes. Default size is 125x125 pixels.

To add this snippet to your site, copy and paste the following HTML code to the location on your page where you want the image to appear:

The default picture size is 125X125 pixels. Below are two examples, one with size 100x100 and the other one with size 145x145. To assign size we use the size parameter. Do not forget to set the height and width of the iframe to the same value as the size parameter you use.

The HTML code to add for these snippets is:

If you want to add multiple snippets on the same page where each one displays a different picture, use different sequence parameters. In the example below, the first snippet has sequence 1, second one has sequence 2 and the other one has sequence 3. You can see the sequence parameter in the HTML code given below the pictures. They are all at the default size, 125x125.

The HTML code to add to your page for this is as follows:

If you don't specify a time interval, the picture in the snippet is renewed every 5 minutes. You can use the refreshIntervalMinutes parameter to adjust this (minimum is 5 minutes). Below is an example where the picture changes every 10 minutes, and the HTML code to add for it:

Advanced configuration

There are a number of parameters that can be used to include or exclude categories and/or pictures from the pool where your random pictures are fetched from. Here is a list of all the URL parameters including these:

Parameter Name Default Value Description
size 125 This parameter specifies the size of the thumbnail you would like to include on your page. The iframe you use should have the same height and width as the value of this parameter.
sequence 1 If you have multiple snippets on the same page, set different sequence values to make sure the same picture is not always displayed on both.
refreshIntervalMinutes 5 This parameter defines the time interval in minutes between the content updates in your snippet. Minimum is 5 minutes and if you specify a value smaller than that it will be set to 5 minutes.
includeCategoriesTree - This parameter is a pipe-separated list of picture category IDs (maximum 10 category IDs can be used). Take the URL of the picture category Edirne for instance (https://www.turkishclass.com/turkey_pictures_gallery_18). The ID of this category is the last part of the URL, 18. To browse the Turkey picture galleries and check the IDs of the categories you want, visit https://www.turkishclass.com/turkey_pictures_gallery_0.

If you want to display pictures from category Edirne and Antalya (https://www.turkishclass.com/turkey_pictures_gallery_11) and all their subcategories in your snippet, you add the parameter includeCategoriesTree=18|11 in the URL of your snippet code.

If you want to include pictures of Edirne and Antalya but you don't want to include their subcategories, use parameter includeCategoriesSingle instead.
includeCategoriesSingle - This parameter is very similar to the includesCategoriesTree parameter explained above, but this one is used for including a category without its subcategories.
includePictures - This parameter is a pipe-separated list of picture IDs (maximum 10 picture IDs can be used). Take the URL of the picture of the Trojan Horse in Troy for instance (https://www.turkishclass.com/picture_754). The ID of this picture is the last part of the URL, 754. To browse the pictures of Turkey and check the IDs of the pictures you want, you can visit the categories pages or the pictures pages.

If you want to display this picture of Troy in your snippet and a picture of Turkish folk dances (https://www.turkishclass.com/picture_286), use parameter includePictures=754|286 in the URL of your snippet code.
excludeCategoriesTree - The use of this parameter is the same as includeCategoriesTree, but in this case the category IDs specified and all their subcategories are excluded in your random picture snippet.
excludeCategoriesSingle - The use of this parameter is the same as includeCategoriesSingle, but in this case the category IDs specified are excluded in your random picture snippet.
excludePictures - The use of this parameter is the same as includePictures, but in this case the picture IDs specified are excluded in your random picture snippet.

Below are some examples demonstrating the use of these URLs, followed the HTML snippet to generate them.
