I think you get an international student card from where you are coming, and then can use it in Turkey. You should have discounts wherever any turkish student has I guess. So in museums, buses, metros, cinemas etc...

 Many thanks, mltm

I took ISIC card and I will try to use it in every possible place.

Maybe someone of Turkish students here could give me some advice or suggestion about places where I can use this card.

I found this website:

http://www.isic.org/sisp/index.htm?fx=isic.discounts.country&card.type=ISIC&country.code=TR

but I can´t believe that those are the only places in Turkey to give discounts to students.

Thanks in advance!

Do I have, as a student, right to any discounts in Turkey (for museum tickets, transportation etc)?

What kind of document do I need as a proof?

Thanks in advance

Now I understand.

We must stop in Edirne anyway, so we can also buy a card there.

Thank you very much, Marion

In case of an accident

Do not move your automobile no matter how badly you are blocking the way for others. If your automobile is moved the police will not take down the report. The accident should be reported to the police or gendarme. That report has to be certified by the nearest local authority. The owner should go to the customs authority with his passport and report.

If the vehicle can be repaired, it is necessary to inform the customs authority first and then take the vehicle to a garage. If the vehicle is not repairable and if the owner wishes to leave the country without his vehicle, he has to deliver it to the nearest customs office, and the registration of his vehicle on his passport will be cancelled. (Only after the cancellation can the owner of the vehicle leave the country,)

Following an accident, you can call

Trafik Polisi (Trafic Police) 154
Jandarma (Gendarme) 156

Traffic rules and regulations

Traffic circulates on the right and the Turkish Highway code is similar to those of European countries. Outside cities, traffic moves freely. The Istanbul-Ankara highway being the only one on which traffic is heavy. There is a 50-km/h speed limit in urban centers and a 90 km/h outside urban centers and 120 km/h on motorways.Turkey has an extensive network of well-maintained roads, linking its towns, cities and popular tourist areas.

Maps

You can find a good Turkish road map at any major bookstore or at the links provided below. An extremely useful guide for anyone visiting Turkey whether it be temporary or permanent would be the A to Z Istanbul Guide.

Thanks a lot, it was very useful information for those who plan to travel to Turkey by their own car!

Maybe you can answer my question about crossing The Second Istanbul Bridge: can I buy a card at KGS satis for ONLY CROSSING THE BRIDGE, not with 30 YTL credits?

You dont need to go to a bank.

KGS satis: here you buy a card.

 Thank you very much, Marion

I understood that we can buy a card at the bridge. But the question is - what is the price of it? If it is 30 YTL (as SuiGeneris said), it is too much for just crossing the bridge. We won´t pass so many haighways in Turkey to spend all credits from the card.

But in a bank we can buy a card with less credits/lower price.

Did I understand well?

Oh! It can’t be possible! For 30 YTL I can pass all Turkish highways! And what if I only want to get to Asian side of Istanbul?

Is it possible that I can’t pass the bridge for 3.25 YTL as every Turkish car?

Btw, I don’t know if you say “man” to everyone, but I am a girl

No no! i use it for like friend, dude etc.

The card itself is 2,5 YTL as i told you or 3 i dont remember... if you have a car not midibus or truck... you will pass for 2,6 YTL i guess If you catch the banks open you can get loaded your KGS as much as you wanted! and another option is to pass the bosphorous with the ferry you can go down to gallipoli over Canakkale!!

Oh, that is the point! You buy the card for 2,5 YTL, and if you buy it in a bank, you can load it only for passing the bridge, but if you buy it on the bridge, you must take the one of 30 YTL, am I right?

Yes, I know about the ferry, but I don´t think I will go to Ankara via Çanakkale...
