How come you are not at school Kai? Are you playing truant and who the hell wants to get up at 05:00 to go to work

School? LL I've finished school I'm studying to be a Dr in the future ...and 5am? yeah maybe I am crazy but nothing like an early start to the day lol No one WANTS to get up at that time, but hey life is not all about what you want lol

Apologies Kai - I assumed you were at school too I think I can sincerely say I wish everyone very good health from now on!!!

lollol good thing its not contagious through the internet

lol @ Aenigma ve Robin...you know Aenigma it would be funny if I got transferred to the Isle of Wight when I become a Dr lol
But I think leaving Oxbridge (Oxford or Cambridge) would qualify me well enough to be a Dr so you would be in safe hands lol

don't you need to be accepted there first?..which needs a-levels....

Not if you have connections lol No, i'm kidding lol...but seriously yes of course, which I am determined to get! Thankfully, science is my subject, well my friends never let me forget it anyway lol so hopefully I will get the A-levels I am predicted

I admire your enthusiasm Kai, however I also think modesty is a admirable quality in ALL things (singing voice, ability with languages, academic achievements/predictions...) I dont want to appear rude, but when people are so self-satisfied/smug there is a temptation to want to "knock them down" - beware of it.

Achievement is certainly something to be proud of I sincerely hope you get into Oxbridge - I have known the most intelligent clever people who have not managed to get past the rather strange entrance exams Come here and tell us when you do get in - THAT will be the time to celebrate

No, your absolutely right about people being "big headed" I agree with you 100%

My singing voice on the other hand? that is left to the shower and shower alone!! lol dont get me wrong I love to sing but being good at it is a completely different situation lol

Languages, I never said I was good at either, I don't know if I am until I speak to someone and they say oh your good or what ever, though I hate it when they do, because sometimes you know they are just being polite (though it is nice to be reassured once in a while). But I do love languages yes...the problem is...I know little of many languages and not enough of just one so my goal is to actually speak a foreign language fluently ...the problem is...which one?

Well stated aenigma x.
Kai - One of your first posts in TC was an offer to translate for others. You stated that you were very good and went on to list a multitude of languages. Now you are saying you are not good.........I have to say I am rather confused.
Translating is serious business and "knowing little" of many languages does not seem to be enough to qualify someone as a translator since you should be certain of what you are translating. If you are not proficient in the languages you previously stated, perhaps you should withdraw the offer.

Actually all I offered was help because I have friends who speak those languages and I tried translating it and my friends would kindly help me/correct me. I never said I could speak them all myself. I wish I could, but I can't. And I also never said I was qualified to do so.

i got straight a's and 2nd best results in my college year and i didn't get in because i wasn't from the 'right' area so i know what you mean there, and i don't think i;m one of the most intelligent, clever people, the point is getting the grades doesn't guarantee you entry to oxbridge..

Oh $£%@! looks like my luck is out then...I might be in good old Surrey now but I didn't exactly grow up in the nicest of places either. I hate it when people are like that.

There you go...thats what bugs today. People thinking they are better than others because of where they are from!
To be honest, some of the most nicest people I've ever met are from the "downside" and places where people are from the "upper class" are more stuck up than I ever imagined possible. Not to say they are all like that though..for e.g. I have this one friend who has three houses in the same road (10 houses apart to be exact) but she is one of the nicest people I've ever met.
