i know this will sound really dumb..but it suddenly occurred to me last night about eggs. i knew that chickens laid eggs and they hatched obviously, but i always wondered how we had eggs that we could eat and what the difference was..so i asked okkes if different eggs were laid for food and babies..he explained(whilst laughing) that the eggs we eat are eggs that were not warmed by the mother and so are in fact are undeveloped chicks..does the thought of that disgust anyone other than me?

another oddball dumb question but it puzzles me and is bugging me..i was recently watching a rerun of 'newlyweds' where jessica simpson questions why bratwursts are white and other sausages are pink..does anyone know the answer?

Yes I can answer that. Your "pink" sausages are made of the rough barely edible scraps of pork or beef (adult pigs and cows) while the bratwurst (your "white" sausages)are made of veal (cute little baby cows which, depending on which country they were from, probably spent their short life in a tiny crate.
Enjoy

Reminds me of the conundrum "what came first the chicken or the egg"

well you can laugh back at Okkes because infact it's because the eggs we eat are not fertilised eggs so they are not undeveloped chicks at all
