My uncle makes dental implants and I never heard him talk about using bones... is this a thing that differs per country, or some kind of special implant?

Barba-Mama....I doubt if talking about the gory and lurid details of doing dental implants is exactly the type of conversation most uncles would have with their nieces....Here, more than you probably ever wanted to know....Understanding Dental Implants

from my previous post, bone harvesting is not always done in an ethical manner.

OMG...this is hideous!!! {#emotions_dlg.rant}

I´m afraid the commerce in human body parts has gotten out of control.  Best to know your manufacturers...I always check skin deep for products before purchase.

Human body parts are used more than many realize....for instance in dental work.  Michael Mastromarino, a  former oral surgeon was a lead in the plunder of Alistair Cooke´s body.

This is something I would not have thought of before, but recently when I had root canals and crowns made, I questioned my dentist on just what was being done and with what. FYI....The human bone is used  in dental implants.

There was a recent CSI show that featured a gang that kidnapped young women to be used in prostitution. If the young lady was too much trouble, her organs were harvested.

Something like this certainly cause one to think, doesn´t it?..........what have we become?

First of all don´t feel bad about reminding him about your medical condition, while acknowledging the excitement of going to his favorite restaurant. Also, don´t let him make you feel guilty if you can´t eat the dishes that he likes most or wants you to try.. I think it might be good if you reminded him about this ahead of time, so that both of you can prepare and avoid the disappointment while you´re there.. Maybe the restaurant you´re going to has an online menu and you can check ahead of time what you will order.

Excellent advice.....wish I had  taken it myself in the past....OH well....I´ve had more problems from being too polite, and eating what I knew I should not have.....it can kill you, so be careful and only eat what you know will not give you problems.

Yes, you have a good point.

Popular usage of the word "luck" is often different from actual dictionary definitions.  Meanings change through time, and how words are used changes.  Also, there are regional differences that color the meaning of words.

I think in essence we are in agreement. I would say some have it easy, and others have things difficult. Perhaps that has more to do with how one reacts to one´s lot....so to speak.

I have been taking a lot of walks lately and I am amazed at how much passed me by before. You know, stop and smell the flowers? There was so much I had not appreciated. Fabulous beauty was all around me, but I had not noticed it.

I am somewhat jealous of my cats, who are very much in the moment. Humans are always seeming to be looking to the future, and missing the present.  How many times have we lost what we have, only to later mourn our loss, but while we were in it, we were (in our mind) someplace else.

Since i believe in free-will, you should guess i am oppossed to predetermination.  What i understood from the word luck, something happened arbitrarily, good or bad and people call it luck, isnt that the way people use it? And i say its not luck, that thing happened is serving the will of God not a coincidence and not arbitrary. All is from God...

I think you are argueing semantics....call it what you will.  You don´t know what it is written, nor could you understand it if you did, so it´s not relevant to you.....Too many, and in particular in the "East" have the  it´s "Written"...so what can I do attitude? If you are a believer, as you say, you believe in Free Will....so you have to take responsibility for your actions..........

There is a story about a family who were in a flood zone that was ordered to evacuate.  They went to the home and told them to get out, but the residents said, "the Lord will save us, we depend on Him"

The waters rose and they had to move to the second floor, the authorities came by in boats to help them evacuate....same story....they would wait for the Lord to save them....

Next they were on their roof and they came by in helicopters to rescue them, but again they said they were waiting for the Lord to rescue them.

They ended up drowning and when they asked what happened, they were told, "We sent vehicles,  boats were sent, helicopters were sent.......you refused them all......

As I said in my previous post, we really have no idea of what is really "good luck". Many times what we think is really good luck is but a curse.

............I as a believer call this will of God or appreciaion of God but not luck. In my opinion there is no luck, no coincidence in subsistence and no arbitrariness in existence. There is no good luck or bad luck either..............

I was told about the leg crossing thing too.  A few of my female Turkish friends told me that some people in Turkey consider this gesture to be sexually provocative.  (Who knew that the mere sight of a woman with her legs crossed could drive some men crazy??)

...........So cat, don´t cross your paws anymore! {#emotions_dlg.lol_fast}

I also know about this, but it´s not just for females, it´s any gender.

If you think about it, crossing one´s legs isn´t that healthy. It constricts circulation.

Do you believe in luck ?

I do believe.

( One day I said my friend “I wish you good luck!”

My friend  replied :"Thank you for your kind thoughts. However I do not believe in luck.” )

Yes I do, but I don´t think most people know how to understand what is good or bad luck.

For instance most parents think having a beautiful child is good luck.  But this could be very wrong.

Many "beaufiful" women or men learn to depend of their looks, rather than develop other qualities.  They are even prevented or discouraged in developing those other attributes.

Look at the sad case of Anna Nicole Smith.....what a tragic lady she really was. To many she would seem very lucky........a very wealthy husband, a well endowed body, a pretty face....but how sad it all turned out.

Often times we think something is bad luck, when maybe this event actually was the best thing that could happen.

Another sad case is the case of Howard Hughes..........scramble for the billions

First one ought to have a command of one’s own language.

A person should learn his own language completely.

The language experts and psychologists say:

- "A person can solely think in his/her own language, can dream in his/her  own language and can be happy in his/her own language.”

clo

Well, that is one school of thought. There is the language that has no boundries....all thoughts are complete, later they are given words.

Language is not only words, it is body language, facial expression, tone of voice. Words can actually confuse matters or clarify them. Too often they are used to cloud the issues. We have seen how lawyers can use words?

I really don´t think all dreams actually use words....

To be bound by only one language is sad indeed.  Learning new languages expands our being. When we have the words to express our thoughts and feelings with more precision it helps actualize things.

Tek hece (Aşk)

Var mı beni içinizde tanıyan?

Yaşanmadan çözülmeyen sır benim

Kalmasa da şöhretimi duymayan

Kimliğimi tarif etmek zor benim

Bülbül benim lisanımda ötüştü

Bir gül için can evinden tutuştu

Yüreğime toroslardan çığ düştü

yangınımı söndümedi kar benim

(Love) is one syllable

Is there anyone who knows me?

Im the secret that u can not solve me without living

Even everybody knows my fame

It is difficult to describe my idendity

nightingale song in my language

it burnt from heart for a rose

An avalance cam down from Taurus (Toros mountains)

Snow couln´t finish the fire inside.

Beautiful, who wrote this?

If I may, even though my understanding of Turkish is not great....I´d ike to mention the word aşk does not just mean love, but is rather the more profound part of love where the lover and the beloved are becoming one.  It is different from sev....which is a earlier less intense stage of love.

Aşk is an Arabic word.

I´m not criticizing your translation, just pointing out how about impossible it is to really translate some things, as different cultures have different vocabularies to express what is important in their particular culture.
