This is terrifying!! Especially considering the kind of stuff they watch and apparently find stimulating..

May be....but I think you are jumping to conclusions about what they watch.  The article did not  define exactly what porn is.

In the not too distant past many things were banned as porn....

During the excavations of Pompeii a great deal of pornography was first discovered and hidden away....for none but the "upper classes" to view. It was not expected that the lower classes would contain themselves when viewing such material.....

There used to be a definition of erotic art....and pornography....sometimes they merge together.  I suspect in this cast, they are merged.

It´s interesting to look at the etymology of the word:

Porne= prostitute..............graph = write or to record

IOW it is a written or drawn description of the activity of a prostitute. I guess sort of what could be expected at certain establishments....or promotional material....

Censorship History

"As public tastes change, so does the nature of popular drama. In the fifth century BCE, Aristophanes´ "Lysistrata" attracted censors for its themes of wifely rebellion and sex. From the 15th to the 18th centuries, plays were censored primarily for religious or political reasons. In the 19th century, social and sexual reasons for censorship emerged, and modern moralists have objected to works by such playwrights as Arthur Miller, Eugene O´Neill, and Lillian Hellman. Most recently, plays dealing with topics such as homosexuality and AIDS have garnered unwanted attention from censors. This work outlines the censorship history of 125 classic plays from ancient times to the present. Each entry presents the name(s) under which the play has appeared, the date it was produced and country of original production, a summary of the play, its censorship history, and suggestions for further reading. Among the works covered are: "Angels in America - Millennium Approaches", Tony Kushner, 1991; "Le Barbier de Seville", Pierre Beaumarchis, 1775; "The Children´s Hour", Lillian Hellman, 1934; "The Crucible", Arthur Miller, 1953; "Henry IV, Part 2", William Shakespeare, 1598; "Jesus Christ Superstar" Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, 1971; "Oedipus Rex", Sophocles, 425 BCE; "Oh! Calcutta", Kenneth Tynan, 1969; "Salome", Oscar Wilde, 1896; and "Le Tartruffe", Moliere, 1669."

I am also opposed to any type of activity that opresses or exploits anyone...or advocates such activity.

It seems in Pompeii, as today, many of the prostitutes were captives.  I don´t think many would choose such a life if they hade other choices....although some may...........Let´s not forget, or over look the fact that  hypersexuality does exist....

Its really a good feeling to able to pull out every screw on the laptop and seeing that there is no screw remained after gathering all the parts together

But i need a new fan? ((

Now how about putting all those screws back in the right places?........how many screws do you have there?

No, Alameda, I wasn´t talking about you although many a time it makes me wonder why you feel like providing links for concepts everyone who graduated from primary school is well familiar with. But, that´s your thing, it doesn´t make me scroll 10 pages just to read one sentence and so it doesn´t annoy me!

I provide links because I,  and millions of others, was trained to provide footnotes in written material.  The footnote provides information or source matter should one desire to do more research into the matter.  As this is HTML....links perform a similar function.

Even though you are very well educated and don´t seem to require any additional references..............There may be others less well endowed, or just curious,  who can  use, and appreciate the links.  I love links. Cool

Anything goes for me as long as:

1. it won´t make me have 3rd arm or leg in the long run

2. no animals were treated with cruelty

3. it´s not of human origin (what was the title of that old film about global famine and making food of people?)

I think what you refer to is the movie....

I think it would be awesome if they can do this in a moderately inexpensive way, I am already a big fan

Hmmm.....I guess there are benefits, but all in all it does not appeal to me.....It doesn´t seem natural and things that aren´t natural often have hidden drawbacks that are only discovered later.

I mean, this is beyond GMO food....

It´s so annoying to see somebody post one sentence and quote a ten-page long post preceeding it. {#emotions_dlg.head_bang}

Yes another diversionary post. The fact of the matter is the vote was taken in Switzerland......NOT Turkey............deal with the issue at hand, not some hypothetical "if"...........and I guess you have not taken note of all the churches already in Turkey?..........but that is another issue.......

Let’s admit that if there was such a referandum in Turkey, results would be like 80 % no, 20 % yes. So please do not try to exclude yourselves from the situation. I think the danger is that intolerance to others ( religions,races,ideologies, genders etc.) is rising intensely. Conservative  or nationalist parties accede even in the most modern countries which means in my opinion people are hating eachother more and more each day despite newest means of communication like internet that is supposed to make people know eachother better.

 Subject is Switzerland´s law and you changed it to Turkish law 301 to defence these laws. We call it "kıvırtma" in Turkish. FYI then many countries have that similar ridiculous laws. It is not unique to Turkey. You can begin with checking Polish one for  example. Btw Turkish one has changed, there is no "Türklük" anymore since it is uncertain.

One of the terms for this tactic is called  digress in English........it´s a very effective.....

Meat grown in laboratory

Researchers in the Netherlands created what was described as soggy pork and are now investigating ways to improve the muscle tissue in the hope that people will one day want to eat it.

No one has yet tasted their produce, but it is believed the artificial meat could be on sale within five years.

Vegetarian groups welcomed the news, saying there was “no ethical objection” if meat was not a piece of a dead animal.

Mark Post, professor of physiology at Eindhoven University, told The Sunday Times: “What we have at the moment is rather like wasted muscle tissue. We need to find ways of improving it by training it and stretching it, but we will get there.

................ummm...........yum..........{#emotions_dlg.puking}..........ugh....I think I´d just rather have beans than this modern innovation...........guess I´m just old fashioned....
