Hopes fade for victims of Zonguldak coal mine blast

Intensive rescue efforts failed to deliver the desired outcome yesterday for 30 workers trapped since Monday in a coal mine in the northwestern province of Zonguldak.

Rescue efforts are expected to continue for another three days, but time is running out for the 30 workers who are buried 540 meters below ground inside the mine.

What a tragic situation!  I only heard about this today, and am amazed nothing has been mentioned here. We really need to find renewable, and more earth friendly fuels.

May Allah have mercy on the souls of those miners, and may the suffering of their famlies be eased.

alameda, you may actually have a point.  I have given credit to Mr. Penn on the photo. If you know who has taken the other photo, please let me know.  For now I have sited that I retrieved the image from Google Images.  I think that may suffice.  Thanks so much!

Me....have a point???? Amazing....I realize you have that unique Texan sense of humor...which escapes me....being of a different temperment....but I do respect your right to your thoughts and expressions, as long as they don´t impinge on those of others. ....like copyrite....Cool

BTW congratulations on your new position....it´s a lot of thankless work....have fun....{#emotions_dlg.flowers}

..............a growing number of them are Westerners. They follow many different forms of Buddhism, but all traditions are characterised by non-violence, lack of dogma, tolerance of differences, and, usually, by the practice of meditation

I hope that this be a good answer^^

Not bad....but not exactly correct either....

"The warrior ideal is a central metaphor in Buddhism. Although it is not recognized now in the west, the warrior ideal and the influence of warrior culture has been central to the practice tradition at the heart of Buddhist doctrine. The loss of this understanding here and now is due in part to the cultural prejudice of the westerners who were first attracted to Buddhism. As western practitioners have matured they have rediscovered this dimension of practice."

more....

Quite frankly, I would rather such things not be in my head at all.  We all know the world is full of ugly things, but who wants to focus on them? Is the glass half empty or is it half full?

I am reading Ibn-i Haldun (Ibn Khaldun) nowadays and i am very excited to read that he manifests the price of labor 400 years before Adam Smith does.

He also have extraordinary comments on sociology, social pattern and even about social contract.

Highly recommended.

I love his work...but wonder why you posted information regarding him in this thread on falous Turks....and...exactly what work of his are you reading? I´ve only read his Muqaddimah.

Ibn Khaldun......
