The Galatians were in their origin a part of the great Celtic migration which invaded Macedon, led by Brennus. The original Celts who settled in Galatia came through Thrace under the leadership of Leotarios and Leonnorios circa 270 BC. Three tribes comprised these Celts, the Tectosages, the Trocmii, and the Tolistobogii.

Also our capital city Ankara is said to be founded by Galatians and the name comes from

their language meaning "anchor" (as found in English today).

Interesting si++...but I would imagine the fact that the "farmers" were around tilling fields and planting seeds has a lot to do with it.  Rather than planting seeds, the "hunters" were out hunting.

Quoting TheJanissary

We are here saying Orchids are only picked up from nature, they are not cultivated and they have small and unique habitats. now there is an over-exploitation of these plants. of course there are some attempts to grow them out of their natural habitats but most of them failed.

the most important subject is, we losted many species. I dont think caring about living things is a romantism.

Actually, I agree with Janissary here.  We have farmed salmon here, but it tastes horrible. We have almost made wild salmon extinct in CA with various wreckless policies, such as damning the rivers they need to spawn. For the last two years the commercial fishermen have not been allowed to fish salmon.  I really miss wild CA salmon.

We thought farming them would be good, but it is actually more harmful to the habitat.  We have to catch tons of other fish to feed them, then there is the problem of getting rid of their feces....all in all, it doesn´t work very well.  The same thing happened with abalone, They are almost extinct as well.  They are just hanging on.  We had amazing forrests of redwoods, but some people cut them all down in some places to sell the wood. Trees that took hundreds of years to grow....gone forever. What was planted in their place contaminated the ground making other species growth all but impossible....but those trees are fire hazards and not able to tolerate the weather changes here.

I hope the Environmental movement in Turkey grows before too much damage is done.

I love cougars, and wonder why, and how is it that beautiful animal´s name has been applied to older women looking for younger lovers???

 This is what I am.

It reminds me of a interview I heard with Dustin Hoffman some years ago.  He said; when he was a young man, all he could think about was sex.  In his mind were thoughts of how could he get the female into a sexual encounter with him. It didn´t even matter if he was really attracted to the female....now that he´s older it´s like having a monkey off his back, he could actually have a conversation and exchange ideas.

Males are also exploited in as much as they are expected to perform.....that can be a very daunting prospect.

Well, the short answer is no. The facebook share functionality under pictures just posts a link and a thumnail of the picture in your facebook wall. When the link or small thumbnail is clicked the user is redirected to the picture page on TC. This is mainly for driving visitors to this website. Sharing in this case doesn´t mean you have rights to that picture but it is a way of pointing your facebook contacts to pictures you saw and liked on TC so that they can also see these pictures.

So, clicking on the FB link only posts a thumbnail on our own personal FB page....(if we have one)?

What is the facebook icon under all the photos and columns?  I see it at the bottom of all the columns and all the photos.  Does that mean anyone can share anyone´s photo or column? Does this mean everyone has given free use copyright to their photos and other work so it can be posted other places by anyone?

Of course any fraud perpetuated in a marriage contract invalidates the contract.  Paying for that deception with one´s life is too high a price IMHO. Then, one has to consider the fact that some of the ladies lives would be forfeit if lack of virginity were revealed....so it´s a conumdrum.

As for the virginity issue, it´s become a hideious tragedy of misunderstanding. While it is true all maidens do not bleed in the desired, or expected, manner, just what does medical science say is an appropriate amount of blood? The prospect of bleeding, and one´s blood amount being under scrutiny, is enough to put a real damper on any bride´s romantic bliss potential on their wedding night.

Wouldn´t a trip to a doctor for verification be a better alternative? It seems there is a lot they can tell with an examination. Of course, that could open another can of worms also..(bribe potential?)

Some real education on the science of the issue seems very much in order. You know, a what´s what, where and how?

From our friends in England - just as bad there!

Dear people of the United Kingdom

Hello and good morning to you all. What a wonderful day?

Anyway, due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown of the economy, your Government has decided to implement a scheme to put workers 50 years of age and older on early retirement. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).  Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to the government to be eligible for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Termination).

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (Scheme Covering Retired Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the government deems appropriate.

Only persons who have been RAPED can get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependent & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance). Obviously, persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the government.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on, will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible.

The government has always prided itself in the amount of SHIT it gives out. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your local MP. They have been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle..

Sincerely and with a cheery smile,

R.Hon. Gordon Brown MP PM

Palace of Westminster

London
