Quoting MissHelen:

Try asking - I'm sure the hotel kitchen (whose cooks - aşÃ§ılar - will of course be Turkish) should be able to make it for you. In fact, if a yabancı asks for something so traditionally Turkish and *in* Turkish, they will prolly fall over themselves preparing it for you...

You could be right - I shall try

Anyway - how did you want your eggs? Scrambled? Why not have menemen instead - full of cancer-preventing tomatoes (handy amid the clouds of cigarette fumes here) plus it's a *traditional* Turkish breakfast. How much more suitable need it be?

I'll make a note of that for when I return!

Unfortunately I doubt the hotel will provide it but I am sure I will find it somewhere Breakfast at the hotel is self service olives, fruit, cheese, etc. with egg either boiled, poached, scrambled, fried or omlette......I can oredr two of three of those including the two I like least :-S

Isn't that just as good as a dog collar?

I suppose it is - if and only if - you know both the greeting and the connotation behind it......and as I still can't order my eggs for breakfast I think learning the religious terminology is pretty much down my list

I like eggs for breakfast lol

No, not in Turkish, but Seslisozluk added a German section to their site, that's why those letters are there I guess.

Thanks you......

anyway...heheh i dunno why u r so interested on eggs hehehe

Seeing as you ask - you shall get an explanation

My motivation for learning Turkish is to be able to speak the language when I return to Turkey later this year. I the hotel in which we shall be staying, Memet comes round during breakfast and says "EGG!". He says it as if it is a command and I think it is perhaps the only word of English he knows

It seems sensible to me to learn the language pertaining to the topics and objects that I am likely to encounter whilst in Turkey. So, naturally, knowing how to order the specific form of egg I prefer for breakfast would be beneficial

Happy now Ramayan ???
lol
