Quoting rapt:

Merhaba!

I am trying to learn the Turkish language. I have relatives in Turkey and would like to be able to communicate with them better.

Could someone please offer advice on the best way to learn the language....where do start?

Thanks for the help!

just start, but have determination, its not easy.

just learn basic everyday things first.the ones you can use to introduce yourself and tell a little about your self.Learn polite greetings and slowly build up your vocab.
I have learnt by going into the chat room and actually speaking to turks ,they are always very helpful ,and understanding if and when you make mistakes ,but dont be afraid to ask for help in the chatroom, some kind and helpful turks are willing to help you learn their language
