opposite is "karşısında"
Does a native speaker use in this way? I would be grateful if a native or bilingual speaker will tell me that.

thats why i couldnt find it in my dictionary i thought it was opposite but it threw me because of the spelling

Quoting RICK:

WHY ARE THE POEPLE HERE? ONLY COZ OF THEIR BF AND GF? OH COME ON PLEASE BE SMARTER... THERE SHOULD BE MUCH BETTER REASONS

rick i am here solely to learn turkish and although at times i make mistakes and feel i am losing the battle i will continue to muddle through and maybe just maybe i will be able to speak turkish fluently. I am learning turkish because i holiday there every year and the people are so open and friendly with me i feel it is only right that i can show an understanding of the language, we plan to buy a sailing boat when we retire and live aboard for the summer months therefore i believe that learning the language will only enhance my wonderful time spent is this truely magnificent country so there you have it my reason to be here!
