Quoting freshman:

You might send jersey if he is interested in sports..I dont think so flowers for men...Flowers for only women, its my idea...

I don't agree. A gift for this day has to be something with a special meaning. Not something he needs. I need a new saucepan but I would break his head with it if he offered me such a thing for Valentine's day!

Quoting SERA_2005:

Your mad but i love the idea of it.

Yes, I AM mad! Especially if you think that i had to find excuses for my job, my family, a daughter to leave in safe hands, etc. But it was really worth the trouble...

And Lauz, you think that I had the money? Oh it was so difficult for me too to find it, but I didn't waste a single minute to think of that. And Ankara...huh...i had never been there before. A stranger between strangers. But I thought that even if I wouldn't be able to meet him, I would be in peace with myself, cause I would have done everything possible to keep that realationship going...

Thread: is TC a website only for Turkish lessons and translations??

Family is the key word here. Yes, I also consider TC as a family, a very precious one.
So why do you feel bad? Don't we all do the same? Exchange messages with our new friends made in this website?
Actually I think that the friendly bonds between this class's members are the ones that make it so successful. We love and appreciate eachother and that's why we run to help everytime anybody asks for help. It doesn't matter if the subject is translations, studies or just human relations. What's important, is that we feel at home here...
Light arguments arise here sometimes, but don't you also argue with your real non virtual friends sometimes? I bet you do. It's all in the game...

A few words about the artist...

ATANUR DOGAN was recently selected as one of the five best artists in the world by the Portrait Society of Canada in Toronto and has been invited to demonstrate at the 2004 International Portrait Arts Festival as their best watercolour artist.

ATANUR's portraits reflect an acute awareness of character. His work is distinguished by a unique rendering of his subject's face and hands. His strong and determined use of dark colours with spots of light and a liberal use of water are both risky and extraordinary for a watercolorist but he achieves amazing results. It is these abilities and techniques, in particular that make his paintings so appreciated and valuable.

Awards:
1989-The Ankara Governor's Award

1994-North Vancouver Competition Achievement Award and Display in Lonsdale Quay

2004-He was selected as "The Best Watercolour Portrait Artist in the world" and awarded first prize by the Portrait Society of Canada.
