or have a leather purse, or wear makeup, or use medicine, or eat jello, or eat pudding.....

Quoting robyn :

can i just ask..do u eat meat,or wear leather shoes????

"No" to all of them! I use complementary medicine,I dont wear leather, I only use cruelty-free cosmetics and I have a vegetarian diet. I do eat dairy foods if they are organic and free-range. Maybe I sometimes make exceptions, but I live this lifestyle 99% of the time but would definitely never kill a living thing (especially in the hope that such a killing would bring me good luck!

Hehehe if you had been here a while you would not DARE ask me these questions! lol

The issue isn't whether you wear leather or eat dairy products from 'free-range'. The simple fact is a human life is NOT equivalent to an animal life. You may feel this way, and while scientist have found similarities linking certain human traits with animal traits and visa versa...they are not the same. There are mammals and then subcategories within clearly marking a distinction. I have studied medicine with nobel prize winners and NOT ONE of them ever taught that animals and humans were the same. Hence if there was such a unification there would be no need for two words. Especially in English, one of the fastest evolving languages in the world. So you can bank on science and linguistics! lol

While I respect your belief. I have to say that I clearly see errors in it and could never support it. But, I do believe that people should not be intentionally cruel to animals. I feel that humans generally down play the importance of animal diversity and it's impact on our life cycle. And in preserving our environment we should be careful to include animal life as well. I strongly believe that far too many people abuse animals and this is wrong.

So yes. let's not abuse animals and give them respect...but No to putting them on the same value scale as humans.

I bet if you saw a hungry crocodile or a man eating shark they would think the same thing about us humans lol

I eat meat etc but I value other people who do not. I see it as a food chain but I agree with not abusing animals

I really don’t understand your argument Capo. It does not take a study in medicine with “Nobel prize winners” to determine that ALL living creatures are different from each other, not just humans and your collective term “animals”. Is an elephant the same as an ant?!!! No! I fail to see how any amount of medical study draw the conclusion that a human life is WORTH MORE than any other life – except to a selfish human. It is typical human arrogance to think we are more important than every other organism simply because we are more evolved. Humans have more advanced brain power – does this make them more worthy of respect and life? If this is your theory, then when we have finished with animals, your chain of authority would suggest that your NEXT victims of experimentation and abuse would be humans of the lowest intelligence, and after that – perhaps a race that you were particularly not fond of…

There are no errors in my “belief”. A life is something even “nobel prize winners” are unable to create, or understand. They can manipulate the creation of life (as in test tube babies) but they are nowhere near being able to create a life completely. They can understand the biology, but they are unable to create that miracle “spark” which gives something life – even in ant. It is precious and fragile and should be respected, whatever form it takes.

I could go further, but this is not the forum for this debate and I was merely answering the question as to whether or not I wear leather or eat meat.
