Asda call their range 'Mediterranean' but they don't have many turkish things. Feta of course, but they do sell Dimes fruit juice and its only 69p heheh. I'll take my commission in cash please Mr Asda!

Your best bet is to make a trip to North London as you won't be disappointed. There are several areas with a large Turkish community but the biggest one is in Haringey along Green Lanes, N8 which isn't far from me. Honestly you will not believe it if you do visit. You will think you've arrived in Turkey! About 99% of this stretch is Turkish owned be it restaurants, cafes, grocers, butchers even opticians and curtain shops! I have an English friend who lives nearby and her parents are from Manchester and they love visiting her as they feel they are on holiday in Turkey! The sights, sounds and smells are all Turkish. I think this is unique in the UK. You will find any kind of Turkish produce your heart desires. As far as the Feta cheese goes this mustn't be confused with the Greek feta which is quite different to the Turkish one.

Anyway pay a visit and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. As mentioned in another post some of these shops are actually the size of a small supermarket with everything from meat, diary, savoury and sweet available. You will even find the good old Efes beer!

If travelling by Tube the nearest station is Turnpike Lane on the Piccadilly line, alternatively there is an overground train station at Haringey.

Good luck and let me know should you need more info/advice.

Thanks Guys!

I took a trip to Lewisham a few weeks ago and found the Turkish Food Centre (TFC) and managed to get a whole bunch of groceries INCLUDING the wonderful Beyaz Peynir!!

LAURA,
If there are no Turkish Groceries around, try Lebanese, Bulgarian, Greek or Turkish Cypriot shops....The name is "FETA CHEESE"

Feta is a greek word not only to discribe cheese but also "slice of"....
I was wondering is there a special name for turkish white cheese?
You know like "moccarella" for the italians.....?
But i am specifically interested at the names of jucie semi-hard white cheese- goats or cows milk made.

ey?
