lol oh this post cracked me up Kathryn... I totally know where you are coming from, doesn't it drive you mad when your trying to explain a song to someone lol I keep trying to remember this song my boyfriend used to listen to and when I explain it he think I'm crazy, it was a few years ago but I could swear it was saying "itch by itch" (obviously not since it was turkish) over and over and I suppose I will never figure out what song it was good luck

It is Spanish indeed, but I have to say that in the lyrics there are many words which aren't used in Spain, but in colloquial language in Cuba.

I was going to say that it is indeed spanish but there's many words that I don't understand either - thanks for the explanation Jorge.
My husband always thought I was bad at spanish since I couldn't explain every single lyric for him
Very catchy song by the way, it was so popular in Turkey..uh was it 2 years ago or so?

Don Omar isn't turkish at all; he's from Puerto Rico.
Here it goes the lyric of the song:

Dale
Dale, Don, dale
Pa´ que se muevan las yales
Pa´ activar los anormales
Y al que se resbale
Boster dale, dale
Dale, Don, dale
Pa´ que se muevan las yales
Pa´ activar los anormales
Y al que se resbale
(Boster, dale!)

Mírala como máquina
Pa´ pillarla en una esquina
Como ron, que fina
Tremenda asesina
Se peina y se guilla
Se viste y se maquilla
Traquila, chiquilla
O te siento en mi silla
Hoy tu vas a ser mia
El Don te desafia
Segura en mi via
Cuidao si te tira
Y si tu novio se activa
Yo activo la guerrilla
Y si el Boster te lo pilla
No le va a dar ni cosquilla

Dale
Dale, Don, dale
Pa´ que se muevan las yales
Pa´ activar los anormales
Y al que se resbale
Boster dale, daleee
Dale, Don, dale
Pa´ que se muevan las yales
Pa´ activar los anormales
Y al que se resbale
(Boster, dale!)

Me dicen, mami, que esta noche tu estas algarete
(Dale, papi, que toy suelta como gabete!)
Te andan cazando el Boster y los mozalbetes
(Que se tiren, que toy suelta como gabete!)
Hay una fila de charlatanes pa´ darte fuete
(Que se alisten, que toy suelta como gabete!)
Entonces tirate bien suelta, como gabete
(Dale, Omar, que toy suelta como gabete!){bis}

As natiypuspi is not a native Turkish, nothing would be more natural than his not understanding, hence not getting offended by the above word! In other words, nothing would be more natural than his having supposed that by "the above word" you were referring to "SAZAN"!

Would you like to replace sazan with any derogative word in English and then repeat your hope again? We will then see if he gets offended or not. If you don't like to replace it with any derogative word which natispuspi could understand very well, I will take the word "sazan" as if being said to me.

Quoting natiypuspi:

Well, I think that it was clear there.
In CAPITAL letters with THREE exclamation marks and a hand POINTING the word. Well, there was no left-hand sign.
An the small note about "the word above" would make her wonder what it is. Which was my point.
She is good at Turkish and may want to learn some slang too.

She can take a look at her dictionary or if still not satisfied with the meaning, she can ask on the forum.

The reason that the word is there is something about sincerity, something you are not much familiar with.

See, I am still not explaining the meaning and making her do some research.

Well, if she already don't know the meaning.
Can you say that she knows or not ?

Hey panta rei, I am not a he! My name is Natalia! Memnun oldum! lol
SunFlowerSeed, I didn't realized about "sazan"! I'm not offended just because I imagine that you are joking.
Anyway, I looked for it at turkishdictionary.net but the meaning didn't say anything to me ... but I didn't give up, and I found it:

Well your girlfriend surely has no respect and does not act like a turkish person, and noone was trying to hurt her she was on here screaming death to all spanish and latin, and blah blah blah and swearing about it all because this song was in spanish, so if you dont want anyone saying anything mean back to her you might want to put a muzzle on her before she starts shouting such racist comments!
