Dutch news said just 20 minutes ago:

In all parts of the Turkish city Ankara there is no drinking-water available due to a crack in important waterworks. The expectation is that 4 million people will not have any water until at least tomorrow. The shortage is just at the same time that Turkey has one of the driest summers in history.Ankara suffers extra from this because the area it's in is a very dry one. The water stock in the capital was already limited in the past few weeks.

Ankara's mayor advises people to go on holiday to reduce the shortage.

Oh hell . I feel sorry for people in Ankara. It always makes me wonder why it is not a simple job to de-salinate sea water for domestic use? I dont know anything about this subject, but it seems that with sea levels rising, it is crazy that we all have water shortages...

Trudy you really hit the nail on our heads..
We live in Ankara. Thanks for reminding us the drought.

We desperately need water here. Don't you see?..We are about to get into a coma as a result of the drought. Couldn't you just send us a bottle of fresh water instead of echoing late from the UK?

Oh well, I better travel down to Antalya this weekend to quench my thirst with ice-cold cokes on the beach.
