Quoting AEnigma III:

Sounds like an american cake recipe NOT a Turkish recipe, so why is it posted here?

Anyway...I can't be bothered to convert "cups" to metric....and what the hell is "salad oil"?

I would assume the oil would have to be corn oil or sunflower oil. You couldn't put olive oil in a cake. but at the same time, I would never put corn oil or sunflower oil on my salad. A bit confusing...

I saw you went to Austria. How was your trip? The thing from Austria I miss is the Stiegl bier from Salzburg. One of my favorites.

Surely a "salad" oil would be nut or olive, ama....you should never heat either

peanut oil is great to cook with actually. Great flavor, but i don't think its very healthy. Thats what all the movie cinemas used to cook their popcorn in to make it so good.

Sorry to dissapoint you. There is the american grocery store in Bibek that I'm sure you are aware of. But they don't have dairy products.
