Whats wrong with equal opportunity and equal representation??

This makes me angry. People try so hard to be politically correct, they end up going too far. Saying by LAW , 40% has to be women is just about scoring points as a Government, and just looking at the sex of the person. The whole point of women fighting for their rights was to be treated as equals, individuals, not just a sex. This law doesn't satisfy the job criteria necessarily, but looks more at numbers and sexes.

Well, there could be a good debate about the correctness of this law, but I think it's a good idea. Truth is that even in western countries, where women supposedly have equal opportunities, it is much harder for a woman to get to the higher management levels in companies because of covert sexism. So it's good that it is forced to have equal gender representation until the society learns to see women in top positions and the mysogynistic men learn to deal with their own ego issues regarding women in power.
I think there's a similar law in Spain.

I have been in the boardrooms.
I was happiest when there was a feminine, smart and beautiful lady sitting across the table from me..and , by God, they get what they want..
I could not stand feminists there, either..)))))))))

In one respect it is a good law of course. In another, unless researched first, this law will cause big difficulties for companies as they mention in the news articles. You cannot just create a law like that without first investigating whether there are enough suitably qualified and willing women to become a board member for a company. Putting inexperienced women into a board room could be disasterous (can't spell that !!!).

i think no place for gender selection for a proffesional company or any part of goverment, and i believe that a successfull female can get everything minimum how a male geteverythings road pass on to want,to success and to have enough abilites for what she wants

You are going to get told off for that and you know it.I am not exactly sure how you catagorise 'real' women as opposed to ones that don't quite match up,i suppose they would say the same for you!

I know what my posts say and no where did i write that it was ok for you to write sleezy things about my sex life of anyone else's for that matter.I am also sure that nobody want to read that. Why did you have to bring things down to your level,I am offended that you think its acceptable to say such overtly disgusting things on here especially to someone that you don't even know.

Hi again MrX - unfortunately I think you are dreaming in an ideal world !!!! I know for a fact that even when woman in Europe manage to obtain the identical job as a man, she is paid less. You might think that this fact makes women more employable because the company can save money, but it doesn't work like that.

Look at the world around you, how many female presidents have you heard of, how many statesmen and ministers are women - so few !!! Does that mean we are incapable - not at all. It just proves the point that whether a female is as good as a male at one job, favour almost 95% of the time, falls on the male. That is why we need laws to insist on equal working opportunities.

Ah...Mmm....you had me confused there for a moment. This is not the Orange you refer to, is it?

Orange Order

Requirements for entry

Members are required to be Protestant with a belief in the Trinity. This excludes Catholics, Unitarians and certain other Christian denominations and all non-Christians.

Most jurisdictions require both the spouse and parents of potential applicants to be Protestant, although the Grand Lodge can be appealed to make exceptions for converts. Members of the Order face the threat of expulsion for attending any Catholic religious ceremonies.
