"ScienceDaily (Oct. 16, 2007) — Contrary to popular opinion, feminism and romance are not incompatible and feminism may actually improve the quality of heterosexual relationships, according to Laurie Rudman and Julie Phelan, from Rutgers University in the US. Their study also shows that unflattering feminist stereotypes, that tend to stigmatize feminists as unattractive and sexually unappealing, are unsupported."
Feminism And Romance Go Hand in Hand

"Among the findings:
• College-age women with feminist male partners said they had higher quality relationships that were more stable than couples involving non-feminist male partners.
• Feminists college men with feminist partners reported having more equality in their relationships.
• Older women reported greater relationship health and sexual satisfaction with male partners who were perceived to be feminist.
• Older men with feminist partners reported more stable relationships and greater sexual satisfaction."
Study: Feminists have better sex, romance

Study: Feminists are better mates
Supporters of equality for women also have stronger relationships, new research says
The results, appearing in the online edition of the peer-reviewed journal Sex Roles, show that for both women and men there was a benefit to having a feminist partner. Feminist women were also more likely than others to be in a romantic relationship.
"If you're a woman paired with a male feminist," said Rudman, "you have a healthier relationship across the board"--better in terms of relationship quality, equality, stability and sexual satisfaction.
"And men paired with female feminists have greater sexual satisfaction and greater relationship stability," she said. "So, [there were] higher scores on two of the four dimensions, with no difference on the other two."
There you have it: Feminists are sexy.
Study: Feminists are better mates

If I were a woman I wouldn't say brilliant, but embarassing.

The so-called defenders of 'women’s rights and freedoms' reduce such liberty to sexual license, and it makes women 'objects of pleasure, means of entertainment, and material for advertising'

Ermmm I think you missed the point QdemirI
They do not make women "objects of pleasure" - the male dominated societies do that. They are free human beings to enjoy sex in the same way as everyone else - not "objects".

The statistics Cat posted were not just about sex, but about relationships too

Both men and women, of course, should enjoy sex mutually.

The so-called staunch defenders of women's rights contribute the male dominated capitalism to use women as objects of pleasure, ...

Also I don't think those feminists are good partners in bed as they are willing to have sex in positions; woman on top only.

Do you understand feminism at all?
I think you have been listening too much to men-hating women! OK forget the word "feminism" because it conjures up images for you of shaven headed women in dungarees who want to emulate men! Think of the word "equality" and you will understand what the majority of women are fighting for

I am starting to look forward to our morning chats Q! What will we do tomorrow? I have to work

Do you think such a woman depicted in the above picture would ever be willing to try missionary or rear entry positions, or let her partner take the control and dominate her.

I don't think so.

This is a bit graphic!!! Do you want to start discussing how BOTH partners enjoy both dominance and submissiveness?

Anyway, maybe this "experience" has made you biased in your attitude to feminism. A bit like me judging all muslims on Bin Laden

It's not that simple. However, a better sex sometimes requires dominance and submissiveness. First of all, it requires mutual trust, respect and understanding.

qD... "good sex" is a subjective term, for you it may be getting beaten by the woman, while for somebody else it's something completely different. results of the survey show that there is a correlation between feminism and "better sex".
does this make it a little clearer?

Well personally I don't believe feminisim is right and I'm a girl mainly because I don't feel like woman or man are better I think we should search for equlity, wich was what I thinki the femenist were fighting for in the past, but now I see they fight for beeing better at everything wich is fine I guess but I rather have a society where man and woman are equal and not fighting for something
That's my opinion

Since when did they fight for being better? You think the fight for equality is over? Have you checked statistics on what women are paid compared to men? That is just in the west!

Do you not care about women being stoned, flogged, having no rights and honour killed in male dominated societies?

You are happy enough eh, so you just dont care about others!

It's imperative that nobody can join this conversation before they do their homework and first find out what feminism is! Anybody who is beating the old, sexist stereotypes, will be kicked out or ignored.

Being submissive/dominant sexually has very little to do with feminism. Do you think that before the feminist movement, women never assumed the "top" position? The point is, as a woman, if I feel in control of my life (work, money, sex...ect) of course I am going to enjoy sex more. As a feminist I am free to enjoy it however, with whoever and how often I CHOOSE. If the man doesn't like it....he is free to leave and my life will not fall apart...I will go to work, bring home my pay and life will go on! Thank you very much!!!

Some men not only make a joke of that, but have fun abusing women. I know, you'd think that qdemir is somewhat mature, but it's actually pretty shocking when he sometimes says things that are totally repugnant.
