Off the topic.. However, I heard on the radio today that brides are demanding their bridesmaids in the UK to sign a contract...Basically, outlining they will not gain weight, cut their hair before the wedding.

Is this typically done in the UK? It seemed a little disheartening to me.

Never heard of it!
To be honest its the kind of story we get about US weddings. Maybe its just the media desparate for stories

That's good to know. I thought it was odd to have a contract with your "so called best friends". I can't imagine asking my best friend to be my maid of honor..then oh bye the way I need you to sign this contract..you won't gain weight or change your hair style. But then again there are fanatic women who want their wedding pictures to be oh so perfect.

I hear more bridesmaids that cancel or decide not to be in the wedding more than anything. That would be the only reason I could think of having a contract. Even that is extreme. I guess you find out who your true friends are.

I did hear this story today also but by no means is it common practice.

It is the evil media trying to drive a wedge between US and UK women!! Can't we all just get along?

Make fun of me more and I won't show you my closet! What can I do if I'm against capitalism, civilization, polluting the planet, exploiting the poor... and all the other evil bed western ideas (ex: feminism and other -isms). I'm left with my trash and my imagination.... :-S
It does make for amazing valentine's day gifts!
