Quoting Elisabeth:

How did Iceland go from NOT being a country on the list in 2007 to being the safest country in 2008?

I will try to do my part to keep the crime rate up in my country. Between my real job, TC and mugging....it's just so hard to get "me" time in.

I've been all over the world but Iceland is truly unique
very little unemployment and practically no crime
its so isolated one of my favourite places on the planet
but dammm so expensive
5 quid for a beer or glass of wine

Wow... now I'm intrigued by this country... I know though that they have an economic crisis with an inflation rate of %20! :-S

When I click on the link I see X factor. Is that on purpose or?

I've heard that in Iceland if you walk at night you may see torches burning in front of some houses. It means that inside there's a lonesome guy who's waiting for someone to join him for a drink. So, if you see a torch you're welcome to enter. I don't now if it's true though.

As for the price of alcohol, I guess it's the northern way. I remember alcohol being awfully pricey in Norway. Not to mention that off-licence would close at 4 p.m.
