Actually, it's a nice song, but there are much better ones :-S Still, much better then the one Turkey had last year (same with Poland though).
I don't like the Greek song... I have no idea why they keep on ranking so high :-S

Mor ve Ötesi is my favourite turkish band but the song they are entering with is too plain. When you listen to so many songs and have to decide which song you'll give your vote, you won't remember it, it doesn't stand out. And to call it rock is a pity Yes I am one of those people who think the contest has lost it's spark, it's not like in the "good old days" lol

The Eurovision Song Contest is a joke!! It may be taken seriously in some countries, but no self-respecting UK performer would dare take part – so it is left to unknown artists and “B listers” desperate to be on TV. The only reason for us to watch it is the TV commentator for the UK, Terry Wogan, who makes us laugh at it all and can predict the voting with uncanny accuracy, i.e.: Greece gives 12 points to Cyprus, Cyprus gives 12 points to Greece and the Eastern/Balkan countries vote for eachother with such united political regularly not to mention the Scandinavian countries!!!

Luckily, we know that the UK never has a chance of winning. Even if we put Elton John or Muse up on stage, we could get “nil points” because we are so hated hehe!

HERE are the average scores handed out between the Balkan nations in the past decade:
• BOSNIA: To Macedonia, 7.8; to Slovenia, 5.4; to Serbia, 11.3; to Croatia, 8.1.
• CROATIA: To Bosnia, 6.7; to Macedonia, 6.5; to Serbia, 12; to Slovenia, 7.6.
• MACEDONIA: To Bosnia, 3.7; to Slovenia, 4; to Serbia, 10.7; to Croatia, 8.3.
• SERBIA: To Bosnia, 7.5; to Macedonia, 9.25; to Slovenia, 5; to Croatia, 8.3.
• SLOVENIA: To Bosnia, 6.3; to Macedonia, 7; to Serbia, 11.3; to Croatia, 9.5.

Whatever country it is held in, the hosts are VILE, the music is DIRE and it goes on for far too long. Why not just forget the songs next year and just proceed with the voting - it would be the same result anyway, and at least we would not have to sit through hours and hours of hellish music lol lol lol

This research paper says it all:-

There wasn't any song that I liked at all. But the last part has always been a fun to watch for me.

You know.
Cypriot Greeks to Greeks = 12 points
Greeks to Cypriot Greeks = 12 points (was not possible this year)

Now we have a similar one this year.
Turkey to Azerbaijan = 12 points
Azerbaijan to Turkey = 12 points

I cannot keep track of which Slavic country votes for another Slavic country, that's another story.

And there are some communities living in some countries.
Turks in UK, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France etc.
Armenians in France, Turkey etc.
Poles in Eire, Germany etc.

And poor England (oops UK) almost always gets the last place. No chance for them. They can forget about winning this contest once again with this format.

Of course voting shows national preferences and would be exactly the same without songs. Balkans will always be high as Yugoslavia got divided. Poland got the same place that Germany and UK did this year! How cool is that? lol

I hated the Russian song, and the Greek Britney Spears doing Shakira'a hip shaking was not my type either. Turkey did great, I think they deserved a higher place, right after Armenia and Finland. Well..my husband's fav was Spain - especially the choreography, Latvia's Jolly Pirates got us hysterical and Bosnia&Herzegovina left us with a wtf expression on our faces.

Our commentator said that Russia invested loads of money in their song, apparently it paid back. And what is always fun for me when I watch it is guessing the votes. Cyprus to Greece, Sweden to Norway etc

If the criteria had been how good the songs were instead of the boobs&ass and neighborhood factors, Serbia would have taken the first spot followed by Turkey and Croatia.

Congratulations to Mor ve Otesi, they did a very good job, and I`m glad they sang in Turkish. Their song shined out among the crappy songs of Russia Ukraine Greece and Armenia.

Oh, Croatia! I forgot about them - the only country to have someone better than 50 Cent - they have 75Cent lol.

Greece got so much from Germany as they love shake-ur-boobs type of songs. lol but the conspiracy theory made me wet my pants

I liked the Fin group the best. (There language is Turkic and I at least heard the word "balta" and one of the group had one).

Mor and Otesi were good but the Azeri song might have been better.

Everything else especially all the slavic countries did stuff that was really derivative from old American Music.

I liked it better when everybody had to sing in their native language, if the aim of Eurovision is to promote cultures, what happens now is the opposite. It's like a 'who will torture English more' contest. The same rhythms and beats, the same style and language...only few countries decided to sing in their language and that was great. I love folk elements in songs and I could hardly hear any this year - well, Israel had some and Armenia

I agree completely, they should either use more folk elements in songs and/or their native languages. Congratulations to Turkey and Finland for using their languages, and putting on a great show by Mor ve Ötesi........and shame on Spain for bringing that Chikilicuatre clown, I mean, he's a fine comedic number but that was it......but some people here actually thought he was going to win=)

Just proves that no one likes the UK! Our only allies are Ireland and even then Poland and Latvia came above us! Even though our song was much better than most! But Poland too, I thought was a good song but landlocked with only old USSR states and Germany who was not in it, they also fell foul of the voting!

Exactly, apparently nobody likes Poland either.. :-S I just cannot believe how such horrible songs like the one from Greece or Ukraine could get 3rd and 2nd places, even the Russian song was very mediocre. I thought that the German song was bad, but the UK had a nice one this year... something creepy is going on there!

Latvia did come above UK, but it's probably because of that semi-pirate hymn they committed (yes, committed is a word used on purpose here). But Poland was not above you, we, you and Germany got 14 points so we made the bottom 3. It is the alphabet that put you in the final position.

There is nothing creepy going on at all! The contest is a joke because political allies and neighbours in Eastern europe will continue to vote for eachother - thereby ensuring that for the next 100 years, an Eastern European country will always win, and the likes of France, Belgium, UK, Netherlands, Spain etc. will always be at the bottom because they are "stupid" enough to vote for the songs they like! lol

I watched the contest for the first time in a few years and my sister was able to 95% predict the voting of the Scandinavian and Eastern European countries (even the order of the votes for each country!!!). Is she psychic? Nope! She just has a good knowledge of geography and european politics lol lol lol

Eastern europe has killed the contest. It used to be fun - crap songs and an unpredictable outcome. Now it is just crap songs and a predictable outcome!

PS My favourites were Turkey and Greece

I am still convinced that the same girl sung the song for most of the Eastern europe countries - the only changes were the dress and occasionally she quickly made her hair wavy. Other than that, they were all quite indistinguishable except for Russia And...oh my god - what was the song with the washing line and lunatic girl?

If we really want to get pendantic, then these countries are not in Europe either:
Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Croatia, Bosnia, Albania, Norway, Iceland!!!!

But how do they determine Europe? The EU and EEA? Or EEA, and EFTA? Who knows as there would still be several countries not covered. And initially there were 43 countries entered so who the hell are they all??????

Time to make a stand fellow Europeans! lol Lets get rid of the competition

I hope the UK will join the Eastern or Asian Broadcasting Union soon so we can take part as an "eastern" or "asian" country in sporting and entertainment events in future lol

Incidently to Turkey, Israel or Azerbaijan consider themselves to be europeans?

...or just when it suits?

Well I was feeling a bit left out with this since I live in the US and can't watch.
But seeing this gives me hope!! If these countries can considering themselves European, maybe the US can too so that we can join in the fun!!!!!
