Well, don't you think high GDP has something to do with high population figures? If you check out GDP per capita USA suddenly goes to the 10th place

That's a relief. Their population is 4.56% of the world population. And GDP-wise they're 25,5%(13,843,825/54,311,608) of the world. What if they were at the first place?

There are rich people all over the world - Russia is an example as well as Middle East sultans or whatever they are called. I've heard that China actually has the biggest reserves of dollars so the US market is dependent on China

Another example is Turkey. There are now more billionaires in Turkey than there are in Japan. (Not a good thing of course. it only shows how poor the rest of us in Turkey are.)

That's interesting, si++, you're right about it not being fair that there are such huge discrepancies between the haves and havenots. Though it's perfectly understandable some people are better-off than others, I'd rather live in a society where the social minimum provides for all your needs. Hold on, actually, I do live in such country

It also shows how capitalism works -rich get richer, poor get poorer.

But also in communist states, there are plenty of rich people who have achieved that at the expense of their countrymen and USSR as it was suddenly spings to mind and also China, by not letting their countrymen "think" for themselves! And what about Chaucescu in Romania, Amelda Marcos and her shoes?
