This isn´t really isolated to just Turkey.

Here´s a thought...Why don´t you simply just ask if they want you to remove your shoes...When I go into someones house, I always ask would they like me to remove my shoes. This isn´t really isolated to just Turkey.

Do you do it back there at the Stats,or you meant when you were in Türkiye ?!

Yes, alot of people do it here in the states. I just think it´s common courtesy really. I know after spending an entire day vaccuming and mopping your floors, the last thing I want is someone tracking in dirt off their shoes.

Shoes are always removed in my house whether or not it is for one of my husband´s (who is Turkish) business associates or not. Of course I should probably be quiet as I am completely ignorant on the subject.

I was just trying to give the guy some general advice. Sorry if this offended you mltm.

Yeah,i know what you mean

İt was same here long time ago,but now its the opposite,if someone asked to remove their shoes, they think its NOT courtesy of him !
So,how do you/they do it,i mean do you/they ask them to remove their shoes,or do you/they have slippers some where near the door so guests would understand it themselves ?!

Silly! Don´t apologise for offending people Lis! This is Turkish Class - unless people can complain about being offended at least 3 times a day, they become bored

I don´t think I have a big house, but considering I have three levels takes quite a long time. So what do you have dirt floors?
