Hotel needed in Istanbul

Hi, I am needing to book a hotel in Istanbul for 3-4 nights.  I would like to stay somewhere nice but not TOO expensive!!  I have to be in the district of Tepebasi, Beyoglu quite early one morning so would like to be not too far from here, but I also want to be able to do some sightseeing.

Can anyone recommend anywhere please or give me advice on what areas to look at?

Thanks

And:

From that last bookingsite I once booked a 4-star in Taksim for 49 euro.

Thanks Trudy

I have looked at the Hotelopia site but I´m not sure where would be the best area to stay.  It gives choice of Asian side, New City or Old City.  Bearing in mind that I don´t want to be too far from Tepebasi which district would it best to chose??  I haven´t got a clue on how long it would take from 1 district to another so not sure on how wide an area to look  {#lang_emotions_confused}

Ofcourse you should choose the district of Pera! just upside of Tepebasi and very close to sightseeing places...

Thank you Sui... I have checked the link and it does look a really nice hotel.  I wish I could afford to stay in the Orient Express room but unfortunately its over my budget {#lang_emotions_sad}.  If anyone would like to contribute to the cost of my trip..... all donations would be greatfully recieved! {#lang_emotions_wink}

I will have a look at other hotels too in the area of Pera but I think I might stay at this one as it looks ideally located.

Thank you again x

 That hotel was very very dirty a few years ago... it may stil be the same..think twice before you purchase i reccomend "point hotel" in taksim...but it may be a bit expensive ( around 110 Euros per night ) or Cartoon Hotel is ok too..and cheaper.

If you do not indend to stay long hours in the hotel and what you need is basically a bed, a tv and a bathroom, check out Arya Otel it is in a slip road from Istiklal Caddesi (Taksim). It´s clean and nice although single rooms are very small - so it´s not recommended if you´re claustrophobic But that´s for a good price (about 40€/night)

Thank you to you all for your input and information.  I have now booked at the Hotel Troya which looks ok... maybe a bit basic but not too expensive and in the area where I want to be but on a quiet street, from what I have read from the reviews.   Hopefully everything will be ok! {#lang_emotions_unsure}
