She claims that my country delivers weapons to Georgia.  How can she be sure of that?  The fact apparently is that American ships crossed the Bosphorus.   This part factl   The other implication it that she supports Russia!

Hadn´t NATO planned manoeuvres in that area before the Georgian conflict? At least that´s what I recall from tv reports. So the "sudden" appearance of a US ship is not really that surprising

Roswitha hasn´t claimed anything.  Unfortunately, she didn´t give a personal comment with her post, so you are assuming a great deal Longinottiı.

Wordpress seems to be a site where anyone can post any ideas they wish.  It´s quite possible the content of the blog has alarmed Ros and she posted it here to see what others thought.

This is one of those instances where  posting a personal comment would have been wise, to ensure there is no misunderstanding about the reason for posting.

Like peacetrain said, she does not claim anything. And even if she supports Russia, isn´t she entitled to have her own ideas and/or preferences? Are you the one who denies her that? How dictatorial.

Just  to review.  What Roswitha did or didn´t clam!

A title of a news article is not really a personal claim.

This was the title of the Blog Ros linked too - not her comment.  However, as peacetrain said a ´personal comment´ would have avoided confusion here.  I recently got shouted down by certain people for daring to ask if people could add a personal comment to articles they posted!

LIR, I share your unpopular opinion that all kinds of articles should nclude a personal comment - actually I bet this is what our Forum Rules say. We all can google, what´s the point of posting what we´ve googled if we don´t have anything to say about it?

What is the big fuss about this incident?

Your country has sold many weapons to all sorts of countries in the past..

Including Taliban, Iran, Saudi arabia etc..

Worry not about silly insults Roswitha , they are not worth the time of day. There

should be no room for that kind of wanton banter. I never respond to grade school

antics nor should you.

I know you are from the USA, and that you had to flee your homeland in Europe

from Russian invasion. I know you and your family lost much when you were a mere

small child. I too am from the USA, and I have family in our Armed Forces and proud of

them.  I am with you my sister....

Chin up Lady_R...! You´ve much to be proud of !

The point would have been to post something BEFORE longinotti said anything to you.  And when you enter the same content in 4 seperate posts without personal comment, it seems a natural conclusion that it is YOUR opinion.  You shouldn´t be surprised by getting a reaction.

Anyway, as I have stated before it would be more interesting to know your thoughts on all these links and articles you post.  They must mean something to you right?  I mean, most people don´t just post any old thing they run across unless they have an opinion on it.

When I posted my response to Long´s abrupt comment I hadn´t seen any other posts by Ros.  I´m not sure if he had either otherwise he would have said so instead of giving the replym to me, that he did.

Ros isn´t the only one who posts articles without comment.  I tend to view Ros´s postings as "News Flashes" rather than "statements" , about seemingly important events.

I think this incident is being blown up out of all proportion.

Granted PT..........It has.....I didn´t mean to labor the issue.....

I was simply referring more to the lack of respect UPON issuing a comment...

....nothing more.

Ros has always been an avenue of vast knowledge for me, not just in TC and Turkish

affairs, but everything in general. For me , she simply places topics out there for

discussion or comment.....Once again nothing more.

I find her a ´ splendid source of information about many things´, an intelligent

individual, a good person, and her songs are pretty cool too !

I´m sure we all agree that we must simply remember not to lose respect for her .....

.....or eachother while in TC.

Because too much of this  revolved around "who was rude"  and who felt insulted. The news story itself didn´t merit this much discussion.

You are being evasive and I don´t see anything in the tone of my comment that was defensive.

As for fact or opinion, I wasn´t referring to your preference.  I was referring to your seemingly certain knowledge that people smear others in pms and then are fake in public.  This seems an irrational comment for you to make, perhaps even a little paranoid.  I think your ´gang´ (your concept not mine ) mentality is surfacing yet again.
I agree with you that people should be honest in their comments on the forums and I trust that everyone is giving their honest opinion. Why would they not? Why would someone argue pink is blue when they know it to be pink? Why would they want to fake comments? It would not make sense to join a site such as this then proceed to make comments one doesn´t believe in {#lang_emotions_you_crazy}.
If you read my posts on this thread, you will see that I am on the side of adding a personal comment to items shared.  In fact Ros will, hopefully, confirm that I have advised her (as a friend via pm replies) to do this  on more than one occasion. I would also advise others (who don´t add a personal comment) to do the same as it prevents assumptions about intent.

This whole thread has now become totally pointless since Roswitha removed her original post.  I think that, unless she cares to restore her post, the thread might as well be locked/deleted as it will just degenerate into a mini-slanging match.

I will pm Ros and ask her again if she wants to repost it.
