What sort of travel restricitons are there for Turkish people..if any? Can they travel to other countries freely? Do they automatically get a passport for travel when they apply, as in other countries? Does it cost an arm and a leg to get one, or only their first child? Please explain...thanks...

We can't travel freely my dear.We have to take a visa from the country we will see. Also we have to carry our passaports. But if you have green passport or red,the conditions can be changed.

So..for instance, if you want to go toRomania...you have to get a VISA from them? Is that VISA different from a passport? or are you calling them one in the same? And, If a passport is different, do you have to pay for it and where do you get one and are they expensive???Because it seems that if they are too expensive...not many people can afford them..

Yeah of course you have to take permission to enter this country.Yeah visa is totally different than passport.Viza is the permission of state, but passport is your identity card. And you have to give a lot of money to get passport and vize. For us it is hard to travel.Do you understand.
Last year I was an Erasmus student in Italy and I couldn't take my vise easily. You know.I went the embassy.I went there 3 weeks to get vise.Do u understand?I showed my papers and everything. But they just don't want you. They gave me the vise last day.I am so nerveous about this.It is not just Italian embassy, all the EU embassies and us.Ooo my god.But we always accept foreign persons with a smiling face.Do you understand my anger?

It is hard for us travelling.I hate all the breucratical things.

there are no travel restrictions in turkiye for turkish citizens.as long as you have proper documantation and get your visa of course.other than that no restrictions whatsoever you can travel anywhere in the world if you have the money and the right documentation as i mentioned earlier.you may just have problems getting your visa from the embassy of the country you are travelling to,but as long as you can proof them, that you are going to come back to turkiye and you are not going to reside in the country you are travelling to,you wont have problems.some european countries germany, england, france and such are just plain afraid you are going to stay there and never leave. thatswhy they have problems issuing your visa most of the time.(which i honestly dont blame them for acting that way because some of the guys who travel abroad dont have any intentions on going back to turkiye after their visit)like i said if you can proof you are going back to your country after your visit than you have no problems travelling abroad.well of course if you are criminal you wont be allowed to travel anywhere.i guess thats the same way in any other country!!

Talking about money. You need money to get passport and visa. How much are we talking here?

this is an intersting subject -- i have been told that a turkish person has to show he hasa got money before he gets a visa for england -- but wages in turkey are low so how can they be expected to have much money? also if an english person invites someone from turkey to stay with them surely it is enough?
also how much money does the embassy require a turkish person to show before a visa is issued/
it seems unfair that the english only have to pay £10 to get into turkey

interesting subject.. i would love to know these answers as I would love to be able to get my turkish friend to uk for a holiday with me.

he said that you have to have either money or land to get a visa?

I would like to know also how much visas and passports are.

I too think its crazy how easy it is for us to come to the country but yet in reverse it is so hard...

To get a visa to the UK you need to persuade the entry clearance officer that you have very strong reasons to return to your homeland and that you will go back at the end of your visa. Othervise you have no chance and you will be treated like a criminal and will get nothing in return for the huge spendings.

Having a permanent job, being a university student, traveling for education etc. are good reasons. "I will visit my girlfriend" or "I have relaives there" etc are bad reasons.

A few years back, people used to join a queue and overnight in the queue just to get into the building of foreign embassies to apply for a visa the next day. For a few years they have given tourism agencies the job to take applications for visas. So there is a certain tourism agency where you will apply for a visa to the UK. They guide applicants during the process. It is costy. My roughly guess that it will cost £200 for a years passport and £200 for visa application and getting all the documents ready.
