IGNORANCE and YOUNG PEOPLE

Ignorance is the source of badness (evils) and errors.

The biggest danger for young people in the world is ignorance.

The biggest war in the world is the war against the ignorance.

Ignorance is the source of the badness (evils), immorality, injustice, poverty, chaos, anarchy, terror, mistakes, faults and other crimes.

Science, philosophy and background are very important things for young people.

But "Epistemology" also includes life experiences.Life experience is essential.

Are these your personal thoughts Yilgun or are you quoting someone?

A few nice quotes on the subject of ignorance:

The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance -- it is the illusion of knowledge.

Daniel Boorstin

Nothing in education is so astonishing as the amount of ignorance it accumulates in the form of inert facts.

Henry B Adams

A great many people mistake opinions for thoughts.

Herbert V. Prochnow

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Martin Luther King Jnr

Blessed is the man who, having nothing to say, abstains from giving us worthy evidence of the fact.

George Eliot

And finally:

Is it ignorance or apathy? Hey, I don´t know and I don´t care.

Jimmy Buffet(Musician and founder of the famous American Bar and Restaurant Chain!)

To Lady in red:

No, these are not my personal thoughts .

These are advices from a  sociology book for a college.

It says "ignorance is the sources of the crimes."

So children and young people need good advices about life for success.

ignorance and wisdom so relative terms,so i think thats not true look for it on the readen thick books or in huts, thats a part of personality matter, and all about ability of what life says us (büyüklerimizn dediði gibi  ´´cehalet gider,eþeklik baki kalýr´´ )

As Mrx67 well said, this is a very important Turkish expression:

" Cehalet gider, eþeklik baki kalýr. "

We need science and philosophy to get rid of ignorance.

I completely disagree with you yilgun - GREED is the cause of most evil....greed for power and money.  The greed and corruption of some human beings is what forces many to live in ignorance.

To TheAenigma ,

Yes, Elisabeth is right.

Because time is bad time.

I am talking about "idealism."

People live with that hope.

Sister Elisabeth is realistic, she is right.

And this being the worst type of ignorance. These are the people that turn a blind eye to  corruption and greed. Ignorance is dangerous and self serving{#lang_emotions_neutral}
