Is that your own private list or have you copied it from somewhere? I´m wondering why you chose Herbert from all Polish poets. There are a few better known than him. And why would this list be in Turkish Poetry part? Are you implying that they were all Turkish? :O

And also, this thread is almost identical to this one

Yilgin, I have moved your thread to General forum as it is not related to Turkish poetry.

For the attention of Daydreamer :

It is my own private list from my private study.

For example, “The Waste Land by  T.S.Eliot (1922)  was selected the best poem of the century by TIME Magazine (U.S.A.), (200.

Runners-up : The Second  Coming by W.B.Yeats ; Home Burial by Robert Frost.

For the attention of Yilgun:

Posts should be posted to the forums that they belong to. If the title reads Turkish literature and poetry it means it is dedicated to TURKISH poets and writers, not to the list of big names collected from other people´s posts. All British and Irish poets you mention are those covered by any course in literature. Of course you may have read them (let me keep my doubts to myself though) and even like them. In such case you should have added your list to the already existing thread instead of posting a list as if they were really all time poets. I don´t agree all of them are and your personal opinion does not make them ones.

Of course you´re free to post whatever google lets you find but in my own personal opinion, you should rather stick to makes of cars or places in the world as you seem more credible in such topics. Please understand that posting big names that everybody knows does not make you an "intellectual" au contraire.

All this Yilgun bashing is starting to sound a bit like bullying

After all, what is his "crime" really?  It may be annoying to post the same thread twice, but are some of these comments really necessary?

He is only young and has not got a bad bone in his body .....

Yeah, you´re right Ae, being annoying is not a crime. I know I´ve pushed it but I just can´t get over the fact that he didn´t say I was YOUNG in his list.

Are you defending yourself (as a mod) for your comments to him, by attacking me?

Ouh you are becoming so Turkish

I am happy to "bash" anyone for their opinion, but not just because they post something quite innocent in the wrong place - I may make a comment or post a "" but certainly not to the degree where it appears like bullying.

Anyone else....I happy to "bash" at anytime

It is quite difficult to understand this sudden ´rush of love for Yilgun´..

Do you think it is because he told everybody how clever and how cultured and how young and how gergeous they are?

Actually I wasn´t defending myself in that particular instance (as a mod or otherwise) - all I did was point out that he was starting an almost identical thread to an existing one - following which he proceeded to add his post to the other thread so we would have had two running at once.  Oh and - yes - I also pointed out that he had the nationality of 2 of his top poets wrong.

I do agree I may have ´bashed´ (if that´s what you like to call it - I call it being entitled to my own opinion) Yilgun ifor some of his posts because I personally found them rather pointless.
