Sam as in Samsun...?
Well, I can give you the names of some companies, at least - though I can't promise they go there!
Varan (arguably the best - certainly more expensive than most, but they are the company I use most often because they are *great*), Nilüfer, Kamil Koç and Metro are fairly major companies...
Hope that helps - some places to start, at least.

Coach station Tel: (+90-362) 238 17 06
This is the number of the coach station in Samsun - why have a little pre-GCSE practice and call them up? See which companies go there?

Just to demonstrate my (non) encyclopedic knowledge of all things coach-related... This was the only company out of your list that I'd hear of!
*sigh*
Good luck!

OK.. IF I BUY A COACH TICKET, ONE WAY, FROM İSTANBUL TO SAMSUN A FEW DAYS BEFORE I PLAN TO GO THERE.. HOW MUCH DO U THINK IT WOULD BE?
ALSO, IF I HAD SOMEONE BUY IT FOR ME IN TURKEY IN THE NEAR FUTURE WOULD IT BE CHEAPER?

Last year I travelled from Istanbul to Kapadokya, and I had the bus there and flight back arranged with this travel agency.
I can really recommend it to you, they offer great service, and although I can't remember what I paid exactly, I remember it wasn't expensive.
Just fill in the information request form Miss_C, they answer very quickly.

I found the ticket for the bus from Istanbul (Esenler Otogar) to Nevşehir (yes I'm one of those people that can't throw away anything ) and it was 35 YTL.
Looking at the map Istanbul to Samsun is more or less the same distance, around 700 km I guess, so I think you'd also pay something like that.

Among the ones you have listed I would pick Pamukkale. Another option is Hidayet Turizm which is a traditional Gaziantep company but it is safe. I have traveled with these firms many times to destinations where Varan or Ulusoy doesnt operate.
There are lots of rubbish companies in this bussiness. You should be very carefull not to choose such a company since there is a high risk of the company consisting just of a name.
Çok dikkatli olmalısın. Pek çok uyduruk firma var bu sektörde.
People unfortunately don't understand the difference between a serious company and a crap company. A serious company has its own busses and is picky on choosing the right bus drivers with a good record.
A crap company consists of a name only. Bus drivers are at the same time the owners of their busses. Usually these drivers also are the owners of the firm. In other words, they register a name and their friends who own a bus apply to this firm. The bus drivers usually drive their own busses. This means the more passangers, the faster they carry the more money they will earn.
They don't get a sallary. They run their own bussiness. They don't follow the daily working limits for bus drivers and they don't follow the speed limits. They will stop at the worst places just because they will get a free drink and dinner.
The problem is that usually they have bad records. A bus driver might have killed 36 people in a past accident and might still keeping his job in a cheap company. There is no serious sentence for trafic accidents even if the driver kills all the passangers.
If there is a problem they simply swich to another cheap company or better they found the company themselves.

Those things didn't occur to me, since I'm not very experienced really with that way of travelling.
I got the information from TurkeyTravelPlanner and I thought it was a very useful site for people wanting to travel to Turkey.
I think that, from my experience, I can safely say that the travel agency is thrustworthy. The driver stopped regularly so he and the passengers could stretch their legs, we got cake and drinks on the bus during the whole trip, and I survived
Of course you're right, you should inform yourself before choosing a company to travel with.

Considering the fact that I had to pay £41 to go from Birmingham to Leeds (in England) and they aren't even far away from each other I'm sure going from Erdine to Hakkari is probably a bargan.
