I´m curious what operating systems people use here. What browsers are popular? Do many users here use Linux, if so what flavor? Is Internet Explorer most popular, or do many use Firefox? Has anyone used or is using VMware? What instant messaging programs do people use?
As for myself, I use Firefox mos the time. I have Opera also, but find it´s too often out of date. It has some great features, like the ability to tile windows. I´ve had 6 browser windows open at once. I use Open Office at home.
I´ve been looking at VMware and thinking of getting it. Any ideas, suggestions? I have some legacy programs I´d really love to be able to use. Although they have been updated, the older versions were better.

I use Windows XP (I just hate Vista) and FF browser. Opera was better than IE but FF was exactly what I wanted (and it has lovely skins )

Yes, Vista is a problem. I´ve wasted hours and hours trying to get peripherals to work on it...only to have to give up and go back to an older machine.

Canli, it very much depends on just what you want to do with your computer. Have you checked out Ubuntu or Openoffice?
Firefox is much faster than IE. Reinstall it if you can. It´s great. As for Vista, check your programs and current hardware for compatability. I spent hours trying to get a scanner to work, it didn´t and will never work on Vista. I had to use an older system to use my scanner...and it was a Canon scanner.

Why the Mac OS? Do you do a lot of graphics? I´m looking at VMware.
