This is all very well....but they should have been concentrating their efforts on Turkish paranoia! ....

Interesting. One small correction though, it´s misleading what the article says that schizophrenia is a mental disorder with no treatment. I think they meant to say with no cure. There are many options for schizophrenia patients, most of the treatment options necessitating medication management as it is primarily a brain disorder, but also therapy. Many if not most people with schizophrenia can lead "normal", productive lives when under proper care of a psychiatrist and a therapist.

Quotes from the article:
"They injected excessive amount of agmatine into rats and observed later that they developed schizophrenia."
"Schizophrenia is characterized by abnormalities in the perception or expression of reality. Some of its symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech and thinking and significant social or occupational dysfunction."
I wonder who interviewed the rats?

Or better yet, they may look for a cure for the lard-ass factor in the UK. I hear 1/3 have hit the I-can´t-fit-in-my-airplane-seat factor running for the who-has-the-lardiest-ass in the EU.

Hehe I would love to know where you got your 1/3 statistic?!
I think you are bending the truth again .... yes there is increasing obesity in our country, but not quite in the proportion you suggest with regards to airplane seats!
Still, I guess it made YOU feel better to say it...

"About 46% of men in England and 32% of women are overweight (a body mass index of 25-30 kg/m2), and an additional 17% of men and 21% of women are obese (a body mass index of more than 30 kg/m2 )."
Is it true??

Yes, sadly it is. However it is not to the extremes of affecting 1/3 of airline passengers taking up extra seating!!
Yes it is a major health problem.... all countries are gradually following the same pattern as the US. It is a primary concern right now for our government Health ministers and they are trying to bring in new programs - especially with regard to overweight children...

Yes probably - but they may be schizophrenic too - and inside every fat person there is a thin one trying to get out!!
