There have been a few changes on the site in the last few weeks. I would like to know what you think about these changes. Any opinions/criticism is welcome. Here is what was done:

- We implemented new ways to find out frequent spammers and removed over 50 user accounts for spam. Did you see any reduction in the number of spam messages you receive lately?

- The latest columns part on the home page is now rotating the newest 5 columns instead of showing only the selected one.

- We increased the number of Turkey pictures on the home page, made them larger and more interactive.

- You can now save rich text in your notepad, and save changes in a more streamlined way.

- Comments were redesigned, and now you can add comments to user profiles and personal pictures as well.

- More changes/improvements are on the way.

- The latest columns part on the home page is now rotating the newest 5 columns instead of showing only the selected one. For me it is ok

- We increased the number of Turkey pictures on the home page, made them larger and more interactive. I luv this feature, site looks more attractive with all these bigger ones

- You can now save rich text in your notepad, and save changes in a more streamlined way.

well,i think comments to profiles are not necessary and why users cannot delete or suspend their accounts when they wish without writing to adm?

- More changes/improvements are on the way.

gifts?

Is it possible to go to the last page of a topic directly from http://www.turkishclass.com/turkish/forum/forumTopics.php page?

You still have to go to first page of the selected topic from that page. And only then you are given a chance to go the last page from there.

Thank you Fatih! The changes are warmly welcomed by me. I noticed that nowadays I spend more time on this site and I frequently click on pictures and columns.

Can we get a searchbox too? Maybe just a customized Google one? Pleaseeee. Smile

These are among the planned changes, along with a few others to make forums more user-friendly. I can´t promise a certain time frame but these will be in soon.

Good idea. We had plans of a more custom search but it is taking too long among all the other work. I will add a Google search box until that one is complete.

I am shocked the spying element has been removed

That is mainly to protect the privacy. People were irritated that others can see what they are doing on the site.

Quoting Ptaszek

why users cannot delete or suspend their accounts when they wish without writing to adm?

Because I think removing an account is unnecessary. If someone doesn´t want to use this site any more, the best way to do that is to not visit. That way, if that person changes mind later on we don´t have to manually reinstate the account. Changing minds after an account is deleted is more common than you would think.

but isn´t it easyer to just create a new user account - if somebody should change his/her mind?

The whole improvement is çok güzel

But my favorite is the pictures display. It is now very intersting and I always find my self looking for new ones and reading their descriptions and rating them.

It is a very nice way to learn more about Turkey and the Turkish culture.

And this definetly will enhance in one way or another the anthusiazim for learning the Turkish language.

Thank you very much

and keep up the good work

What is the facebook icon under all the photos and columns?  I see it at the bottom of all the columns and all the photos.  Does that mean anyone can share anyone´s photo or column? Does this mean everyone has given free use copyright to their photos and other work so it can be posted other places by anyone?

Well, the short answer is no. The facebook share functionality under pictures just posts a link and a thumnail of the picture in your facebook wall. When the link or small thumbnail is clicked the user is redirected to the picture page on TC. This is mainly for driving visitors to this website. Sharing in this case doesn´t mean you have rights to that picture but it is a way of pointing your facebook contacts to pictures you saw and liked on TC so that they can also see these pictures.

yes I´d like to know this too, and also what the number beside the facebook icon means? Beside 1 of my personal photos it has another little icon that says 6, what does this mean, because it´s only beside this one, not the other 3.  I did post only this photo to my facebook from here because I already have the other ones there, is it something to do with that?

Sorry, you already answered while I was still typing, thank you for the answer.... and am I right to presume that the number 6 beside my facebook icon means that six people have visited this site usin the link that appears with my picture on facebook?  Thats pretty cool!

So, clicking on the FB link only posts a thumbnail on our own personal FB page....(if we have one)?

Hmm, it should mean that it was shared on facebook 6 times. You just did it once, right?
