wow. you have an imagination there!

where the hell you took out the number 4.5 billions? outa hat? were you there when the earth cooled down?

how about running up hills now?

The earth has been studied by geologist, paleontologist  and stratigraphers who have been able to determing the relative order and growth of rocks using radiometri dating to verify a time scale, hence my reasoning for 4.5 billion years give or take a few years. So far, rocks older than 3.0 billion years have been found in North America, India, Russia, Greenland, Australia, and Africa. The oldest rocks in North America, found in Minnesota, give a U-Pb discordia age of 3.56 billion years.

Each year the southern California area has about 10,000 earthquakes. Most of them are so small that they are not felt. Only several hundred are greater than magnitude 3.0, and only about 15-20 are greater than magnitude 4.0. If there is a large earthquake, however, the aftershock sequence will produce many more earthquakes of all magnitudes for many months.

oh, please. dont give anything like radiometric or carbon dating.

none of them accurate, and there were lots of mistakes in the past. school books were changed and re-printed (at the cost of tax-payers). when I went to school the highest number of radiometric assumed dating was below a billion. we were taught about 200-400 millions. and then it changed to 1,3 billion then it again changed and changed until it reached today´s magic number 4,5.

I wonder where its gonna stop? we are talking about big numbers here. its not -/+ 2 years.

as for it was always this amount numbers of earthquake is a nonsense. we are talking about recent decades. we still had good news transmission before these last two decades. plus, if you do searches every major earthquake was registered. most of cities and towns have their records about their history.

im really not liking your idea about faster news transmission to justify "unknown" or "hidden" quakes.

" Chili Earthquake May Have Sortened Days on Earth....

The massive 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile may have changed the entire Earth´s rotation and shortened the length of days on our planet, a NASA scientist said Monday.

The quake, the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history, hit Chile Saturday and should have shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.26 milliseconds, according to research scientist Richard Gross at NASA´s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

"Perhaps more impressive is how much the quake shifted Earth´s axis," NASA officials said in a Monday update.

The computer model used by Gross and his colleagues to determine the effects of the Chile earthquake effect also found that it should have moved Earth´s figure axis by about 3 inches (8 cm or 27 milliarcseconds).

The Earth´s figure axis is not the same as its north-south axis, which it spins around once every day at a speed of about 1,000 mph (1,604 kph)."

Make what you will of this...I find it interesting.....

Many books have been either rewritten or re transcribe including history books and religious books - does this mean we should not pay heed to them either ???? Televison /radio´s/phones/light bulbs / toilet paper/ the list can go on and on were invented and put into homes in the - are you saying we should all lay down like frighten sheep and give up research for cures of diseases or improvements in our life - research and methods to procure water and sustainable food - science is a ongoing process that  is why now there are less deaths with births - less deaths from epidemics and we also through media get to know what is happening much quicker

are you saying the plane should not of been invented or electricty  --- please get a grip every article of your clothing your house you live in the car or bus you drive are designed with science and a continual study to make things work better or perhaps in better harmony with the earth

it will never stop as instrumentation is always being improved

errr uhm you are using internet  which can relay your ideas from your country to mine, and I am sure you use msn messenger or the likes of it including searches on internet -  if you want to go live out in the back woods with your end stuck in the sand do so but don´t expect to be able to rant and rave here on internet

I write this with no hostility towards you only just telling facts that I am aware of and wish to open your mind a little

none of your answers were satisfying enough. I expected something more.

1. I made a good point there. The observations on the earthquake frequency is pretty clear. It is increasing. The thing is that you still dont get my point. Most and major quakes are registered and they are not as many as in the last two decades.

2. If the dating keeps changing because of measuring improvement then it means you cant rely on them and you definintely should not come up with a certain number of years as you did.

When you talk about billions years, do you use your imagination? these are big numbers. none of the rocks can exist billion years. they form pretty quick and they decay pretty quick.

you can easily fossilize your own stuff in your own garden. for that you dont need million years let alone zillion.

3. Which religious books have changed? give me examples. show me exact texts and tell me from what they changed to what.

4. My mind is  pretty  open for everything. Have you checked your mind? have you checked your facts?

No need to worry. There were huge earthquakes before 1900 too. In a certain time period, they were even more recent than nowadays. I clearly remember. I do. Smile

yes, my dear, tell me. tell me about your memories. you clear remember what? all the quakes from the last century?

That´s right, I have some flashbacks from the one before the last, too. Loud and clear. But I really like to keep these to myself, that´s what makes them special.

can I get your MSN? {#emotions_dlg.shy}
