I thought I logged to a different site.
It is deffintly a new look. one must get used to it.
I am not sure I will do so soon.
I agree with the remarks on the rotating photos.
and i think th previouse design was more practicle, but may be i´ll just get used to this one.
the colors are nice.
alterationation are needed once in a while, but i think this was radical with no previous notice.
may be if you have just changed the colors first keeping the same layout would be a first step change
i feel i´m kind of lost now

WOW!   Changes afoot!

I like the change to the login, just pressing ´enter´ on the keyboard is so much better than having to click on ´go´.

I think red´s a good choice, as it´s the colour of the Turkish flag, but perhaps the forum blue could be changed as it seems (to me) to clash with the red ... just a thought.

The new layout for browsing the photos is great too.

Everything does seem to be much easier on the eye once one begins to browse.

A lot of hard work seems to have been done so a big well done and thank you to Admin.

Why is the  username / password bit black and seems to write in black also . I could not see what I was typing and meant I failed a few times before I finally logged on, because I was trying to use turkish letters but always forget which ones they are on my standard computer. Is it just mine ? or

Could the writting not be a bright colour so it could be seen  please?.

Ouch, the new layout hurts my eyes. I like red and surely understand its symbolism here, but isn´t there a tad too much of it? I think it would suffice to keep the top of the page red but change colours in the window on the right (the one with latest posts). And it´s too bad you changed the way photos displayed, it made the forum look cosy and attractive to look at.

I like the idea of placing active users etc on the bottom of the page

And I absolutely love the SEARCH option

and i happen to hate those drop down menu bars the most (this here isn´t the only site where they think it´s modern like copy-paste from site to site, no new ideas)...sooo wastes my time to try to go AROUND them and - god forbid - not to touch any of them or you´ll get another annoying dropper opened again. yeah red is a bit...overrated, but since this is T...c....then red is ok, i think...could be a bit lighter tone though...but since i don´t visit this site very often anymore, then - who cares what i think anyway and Rey - don´t leave the site just coz they thought they IMPROVED it as they say - missed the bus? wait a little and there will be new one...and wait a bit longer and the old one will come back, too so - just wait...a bit...longer...

btw - Rey, you were right, i have been here only for about 5 minutes and my eyes start to hurt, too...

Often a photo on the top corners would catch my eye and I´d be off discovering new parts.  It´s not the same now. I would have to go look for them and not knowing what to look for things are harder to discover. Does that make sense?

That is in fact true, but then I would not be able to do other things like was possible with the old configuration.  I could just go to the home page and watch them rotate, but then I wouldn´t be able to reply to comments, take lessons or do other things and see rotating photographs,

Aaah, sorry I misunderstood you .  When you said "I´d be off discovering new parts" I thought you meant you would click on one that caught your eye, which would then lead to another click on other photos that are shown with the one selected.  This is what I do, but of course it does take me away from the lessons.

I guess that you were aiming for a more professional and modern appearance. Well, you got it. But there were changes made in another level, too.

I think that the old site structure was more user friendly. It fit the purpose of TurkishClass perfectly. Now the colors and fonts are the stars, which is distracting.

This template is more suitale for a magazine site or a blog. It is not really comfortable to use, I am a bit dissappointed with it. Hopefully I will get used to it soon.

The thing is, that this site is so much complex. Translations, picture galleries, profiles, grammar, lessons, chat, forums.. It grew out from the skin. Especially this new one.

TurkishClass is so big and diverse with totally different sections, that it needs a programmer and a web designer to pull it to the next step.

But for that, a certain budget (somebody who would invest) is necessary and considering that this is a free site, it is not easy.

So I am very grateful that admin is trying to do all this on his own and there are so many people who are willing to work here as translators, moderators and contributors. Thank you!

Thank you..

Hi Petra, thank you for your constructive criticism and suggestions. Which version of IE do you see this on? I test it on IE8 and looks fine.

I use Internet Explorer 8, Chroma and Opera at home, and it looks ok at every browser. But I have Internet Explorer 6 at work, and there it looks as Petra presented.

Interesting, I don´t see this issue. Which browser was this on?

I know others have asked this too, isn´t it possible to enlarge the ´private message´ part and/or to add something bigger / colourful that shows there are messages? I have the idea many members don´t see it now.

Thanks Slavica. I don´t think we will be able to support Internet Explorer 6 because of time limitations. It is a problematic browser and it is slowly disappearing so we will not be putting the time to make the site work perfectly using it.

Guys! I think I couldn´t make myself clear! I asked, what is the use in the new look if this new look doesn´t help me find a girlfriend at TC, and you are talking about missing part of the site, that part of the site, this feature, that feature, Arial font, pink color, drop-down menü, old school layout.... Guys, my question is so clear: will this new look help me find a girl or not? Simply answer this question!

Mozeralla or not, on or under a pizza - that doesn´t need to help necessarily! The point with your candidacy is that you are in advance more than welcome to marry me since -I remember- you helped with my english in the past, which I have valued.

For your information - I like mozarella only in salad - such a harmony. If you are for such a harmony, then marry me!

Wow! The small changes you made in the last few days are real hits. I totally got used to the new look and structure.

Thanks guys!

PS: If you use explorer as a browser, the bottom links pile up without making separate coloumns. Just like this =>

I also have this problem today with the piling up of colums on top of each other at the bottom of the page, but it is same IE version I always use and it never done it before, I am also on the same laptop. I´m not that up on my IT and dont know what version it is but is a year old laptop that already had internet explorer set as the default.  Not sure why its doing it today but never before

Help!  I´m sure there used to be a TC search engine, somewhere on the site, to enable a search for subject matter within threads.

Was I dreaming? If not, please can someone tell me where it is located nowadays?

Many thanks.

(In case someone is feeling kind . . . I was looking for the thread that discussed the different shopping malls in Istanbul. )

On top, you should see the tezt that raeds "search" next to an input box. Enter something and click on it. Works for me.

Oh yes , I had seen that, but thought thought it was for external searches. Silly me.

Thanks, I´ll go and try it .
