It was simply a feast for ears..

But generally it was more than that just music really..It was the story of Anatolia.. It was what we have in people.. A completely mixture of cultures.. Turks, Kurds, Armenians, Caucasions, Greeks ..A culture, distilled through thousands of years of different civilizations..

Where is the emptiness of Turkish History thesis (It is called TTT- Turk Tarih Tezi, which tries to prove everybody in Anatolia is a Turk and we are all from  central Asia. We brought civilization to everybody etc) and where is the reality?

Just listen to the song after skipping 3 minutes.. Listen to the old Armenian woman singing ..

I am able to feel her pain from her voice..

That must be because of your Armenian genes you keep mentioning you have. You know as we say "kan çekiyor". ı

I´m still amused at Alpha´s and Si++´s attempts to put Handsom´s post down to his Armenian/Kurdish ancestry. Why is it so hard to accept that some Turks are able to think for themselves and, regardless whether they´re right or wrong, keep their own opinions? Is it a prerequisite to agree about everything when you´re Turkish? lol What if a Turk said they don´t like Turkey? Whom would that make them? Kurds? or maybe Americans? Hmmm oh I know, it would mean they have Greek blood in them - what else than your personal opinions makes your entitlement to a nationality...{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

It´s so ridiculous for somebody who comes from a country where everybody has a different opinion about everything. lol

Firstly I am the one who is too concerned with their Armenian/Kurdish genes. I simply don´t care about my genetic codes.

Secondly I doubt if he´s a Turk. Of course you wouldn´t. You should know better than me who is a Turk or and who is not, right?

Excuse me but I hope you are not going to be accusing me "being too harsh on you because I call you a racist".

Look at "what you are writing", read "the definition of racism", then put your hand on your heart and think if you are a racist or not.

I am not interested in what you call racist/racism. I don´t care whether you call me racist or whatever. I know what I am. You are the one who continuously keep bringing up the subject about Armenian/Kurdish genes in people who happily calls them Turks. I can sense your discomfort with that. You do it on purpose, you are not happy to call yourself Turk, that´s for sure. You find some relief by thinking about the Armenian/Kurdish genes you have in your genetic code. That´s fine but why do always keep mentioning here? Be happy with those genes in you that´s OK, but stop mentioning, it´s getting f**king boring.

Well I know you are proud of being a racist!! In fact, almost all racists are proud of themselves..

I dont have a problem with calling myself a Turk..I have never had and I will never be.. But I know there are many in Turkey they dont call themselves as Turks. Obviously that bothers "the racists". And those racists should respect people who dont call themselves Turks and understand that those people are the owner of that country as much as them selves.

In the end, it is a good thing that those racists realize they are simply not from central Asia and they carry the genes of those people they despise and try to belittle. It is good for them to know that they are genetically more Greek/Armenians/Kurds than central Asian Turks..

But.. lets get back to the topic..

Can you feel the pain in that song I mentioned? have you listened to it? can you realize that what sort of pain it might be? what sort of pain we inflicted on those people? can we try to be a little bit human to understand her suffering?

Firstly, I don´t think I am something to be called racist. That´s your f**king idea. I don´t care what you think.

Secondly I don´t care about the percentage of central Asian genes in me. I am still happy/proud to call myself Turk.

Thirdly, I don´t understand why you are so concerned with those genes??

And back to the topic. Sorry I cannot connect to utube nor have a proper player installed on my pc to listen to that song. And I will not bother myself with finding some ways to conect to utube or installing a proper media player for it.

Did you put your hand on your heart and looked at the mirror and asked the question?

It is not my idea.. That is what they call it in generic terms all around the world..

I think you should connect to youtube and listen to that song..

It made me and some others literary to cry.. (I felt the same when I read a book ´black burial clothes-kara kefen´. It was about a woman whose family got killed during 1915 when she was 10/11 yo and raised by a Kurdish family and then she got married to a Kurd and had kids etc.. She had to hide her pain in her entire life!! She simply was not allowed to talk about it as if it was her crime and the worse, she could not even share it with her own children. Can you imagine a life in which you even think you can not tell your sorrow to your own off springs? She, in the end, very close to her death, asked to be buried in black burial clothes as her dying will..And when she dies, her daughter realizes the suffering her mom had to go through and the guilt because she could not share it with her mom.. It is like thinking your mother was close to you but all those times, she was unable to share her grief and then when you realize it, your mom  has gone forever without telling it to her!!... That woman who was singing in that link..very sweetly, bitterly but with all her innocence, she was still trying to say that she is from Anatolia she was still trying to say that she belongs there... I felt so sorry for her.. so sorry that I could not do anything for her.. But only thing I can  do is that to share or trying to understand the pain she has been suffering)

Just a bit of compassion about what we have done to those people..

Well there is a great deal more that is NOT about Armenia on there, as it is linked to anything that is posted on the Facebook site.  I guess freeing the Dolphins in Hisaronu is also an Armenian issue????

How dare you compare innocent Armenians with vicious dolphins? Utterly out of line !..{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

The only resemblance is that they both sing !

Add quoted text here

as a geneticist it is interesting for me to see how much of human behaviour is nowadays attributed to ´genes´

There is no such thing as ´Kurdish´ or ´Turkish´  or ´Armenian´ genes. We all share the same gene pool, only the frequency of some variations is unevenly distributed.  We are all descendants of the original Adam and Eve, both in a biblical and evolutionary sense.

I love Turkey deeply, for its beauty, its people, its culture, for many reasons.  But i am not blind to the fact that there are problems now  and there has been grave injustice in the past.  But dwelling on the past too much, and not looking towards the future means becoming bitter and denying our children a chance of a happier life.

Thank you for making me discover this documentary. It´s very interesting. I´ll try to watch all of it.

The songs there are very touching. It is obvious that they come from heart. Every time I am more astonished about the richness of Anatolia. i hope it will never disappear. There are a lot to discover about this land.

I think we (everyone from anatolia) should be proud of this richness and existence of different peoples and cultures on this land, at least it makes me proud and we should try to learn much more about all this richness. Maybe then we can learn to be more tolerant and feel less hatred.
