...that a dangerous terrorist had successfully infiltrated into the military top brass for several years, disguised himself as head of the armed forces...

And why not? How many military coups did you have again?

Concerning the convicted journalists and opposition activists I have understood the case has grown into a surrealistic drama.

Yes why not? If you seriously believe it.

I was curious who would believe such an absurd comment. You surprised me Abla. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

I was not insisting si++. I was asking. I do understand the limits of my knowledge.

Aside from the ironic choice of words you used the idea of someone planning a coup in Turkey makes sense to me. You explain me why not.

I think it´s a such clear statement that should require no explaination.

I will give you a link (in Turkish, I know you can read Turkish text reasonably well) that should give you some insight:

That sounds strange, is this good? Journalists who helped organize anti government protests sentenced for 16 years in prison?

Not good at all.

I think there have been serious mistakes during the trials. Apart from everything else, the definition of terrorism acording to Turkish law is very large and with that law, you can accuse anybody as terrorists (btw..this law was made with the pressure from the army!! in 2007)

There are people there in the trial and sentenced, I would never doubt of their guilt. Veli Kucuk/Alpaslan Alpaslan/Kerincsiz etc. These are the people who arranged the killings of many innocent people including Hrant Dink to create a chaos so that the army can intevene again.

But they put people who have never took a rifle in their hands  in jail too. Those journalists are amongs them (though, the accused journalists still could not explain what they were doing in coup meetings. Only M. Balbay said ´he was there on the journalistic purpose´ and he answered as ´I was going to make a book about it´ when he was asked ´then, why you did not write anything about those coup meetings in your newspaper´

Basically, the killings of journalists/intellects etc has stopped since the beggining of this trial. But I dont think The justice is served..

More importantly, I dont think thos trial found the roots of Turkeys deep state.

A good source and correct interpretetion :

Look the picture was much more diverse than the impression I got from your post. Thanks, si++.

Unaware of the details I just write a couple of things that came to my mind:

1. Being the boss in an organization always means responsibility for the action of the subordinates also. That is what being a leader is all about.

2. The Prime Minister has distanced from the court decision which is normal according to  the division between state powers. A sultan could intervene, a politician can not.

then you call them an agent, not a terrorist. the previous coups were done by the officers that were americanists. now rte doing everything for the american favor himself, you should understand the unrealistic connection of coups and ergenekon arrests. if he was seriously against a potential coup he would have to be against america as well.

besides if you have 750.000 soldiers at your command you dont feel the need to create terrorist organization.
