who remembers old members?

I think it is better to acknowledge and appreciate the current member who are helping/contributing on this site

the old ones have withered up for the current users

I do, and I know very many do

I still believe it is better to know and appreciate those in the  present Yes lets all clap hands for the previous people who helped make TC exist today but today I thank the people who are active today on this site contributing both text to be translated and those who translate. A special thank you to those who go the extra mile and actually explain their corrections and help so many learn and understand the language better.

If you look at who started this post they did the same thing one year ago and have not really posted anything during this last year . So I would say hey duska try to contribute better .................

if you are as bright as you believe you are maybe you would repost in the proper general forum topic for the old members to play with. As it is definetely not newsworthy to be in the front forum. it is neither a News articles, events, announcements

so get it right and post in the back nine where they can all reminisce and pat your back for posting who the oldies are.

current members like you?....who has been  contributing for how long? Well my dear, I notice you have been having a lively conversation with some of those withered up old ones....lol....everything in this world is built on what was previous. You are here enjoying the work of those before you, how about some respect?

I remember Erdinç, I remember Cynicmystic. Great contributors they were.

Unfortunately they left (or forced to leave) just because of an unncessary person still hanging around here.

Tunci.... he is still a member but I dont see him around for long time but his way of explaining our questions and his helpful tests are amazing... miss you prof.

what keeps TC alive is the adverstising it gets to keep the website and if you look at the memebers on this site you will see this also many have not been active for more than 5 years. Please don´t off my comment when you did not read that I did acknowledge previous members in my posting What keeps TC going today is the members who contribute today not someone who post who remembers  old members a year ago and than again now....

sigh....I remember well....and I miss them too....but you are here.  I always enjoyed vineyards posts too. There have been many. It´s interesting to go through the archives and read. 

Well It think there many others who contributed here will never be forgotten: Aenigma, Femme, GG, DD, LIR, Bod, Ros, Canli, DK, Sui  and many others. Their contributions were more than just simple chat like posts we see sometimes here and that is the reason why we do remember  and miss them. Vineyards was always interesting to read, I would say the same for some of the old posts from Alpha too. Erdinc? I dont know him really.. But if a person thinks that ´some people should not post if they do then I leave´ then yes he/she should leave. There is no place in a modern world for a person with that mind set in my opinion. But in the end, it is our choice to be here or not..

FYI, there are many ways to contribute, not all are linguistic, some have to do with culture....that is things to do with etiquette, style, historic events and more. It appears in your short lifetime, you have not yet learned about them.

once again you miss the point.... but then you choose to do that. What you contributed to this post was really nothing. There is no need for you to further post on it on my behalf. I never at all dismissed the past people on this site nor did I make any selective comment on what is written. I never down played their importants either. I never once mentioned or suggested that the articles that have been written were useless or useful. The useful article´s about history poetry politics are very helpful and hopefully will continue. I said what buys this site the money to operate is the current activity because to be honest if I was promoting a commercial item I would not waste my money to advertise on a site that did not have current users - I applaud the users today and the ones who are very helpful and actually help people learn. ( end of story )As for etiquette I promise not to name call you  because I am sure you already know what I am thinking  apparently you believe you can read through my post and make accusations  of what I said or didn´t say or even what I think. So just for your read this ".......................... " oh and have a nice TC day.  maybe you can rewrite or contribute what you seem to feel the site is short of.

Acatually, this thread was asking who remembers. Seeing as you don´t want to remember, were not here to have anything to remember, or see the value of it....as so succinctly noted in your first post in this thread "I think it is better to acknowledge and appreciate the current member who are helping/contributing on this site the old ones have withered up for the current users"  Perhaps it would be better for you to not post in this thread. IOW, it´s not your thread to dictate who or what can happen in it. There are others here who WANT to remember.

There have been so many, I miss them...I wonder what happened to them, where they are now? KeithL, Roswitha always posted interesting things, Yilgun, Canli from Egypt, I hope she is well.  added a lot. I hope they are well. There have been many others.

Did you actually thing you could make a difference in these posting by throwing in a word or two. I still stand with both my original statements - wrong forum for it and second I give kudos to the people that use the forums today and tomorrow because that is what keeps TC alive.

To be honest i can not see my age as an issue here. Never hid my age and I have always proud of what I am.

But somehow, I never valued people who discriminate others about the things they can not change, with respect. I fail the see any intelligence in them. Some always think women are less than men, some think Asians are less than European, some thinks Armenians are less, some thinks gay and lesbians are less. Those  somes  think that they are better because they are men or they are european or they not armenians or they are straight etc. And you think along the same lines as you are better because of your age. So, can you show me any reason why we should not treat you at the same itelligence level as them?

Actually I would believe your actions show more bigotry and more immaturity than mine. You don´t like anyone that doesn´t fit your mold or anyone who doesn´t agree with you. If you re-read your own posts going back years you have had more temper tantrums than most, shown your own level on ignorance with your own bad behaviour. You have fought sworn and ganged on other memebers. So please don´t think you are in some sainted list of value. We all have value and I never used the sign for your actually age but I am sure you are up there on the scale. I used it for old memebers.  By the way the sign is use through out UK today so I am sure you have seen it many times. I still maintain that the current members are what keep the site going. That does include you too. Once again if you can show you actually have a level of understand, and read what I wrote in the beginning I still stand by it. I never started with the word old in the first place it was not my word to describe past memebers.

I dont think I would want to go on and on with you here about my history as it is not relevant what so ever with your bigotry.Well if you think you are not a bigoted person and did not mean to, that is fine. But It wont change the fact that I dont like bigoted people.

I don´t really know what old crow(bar) is stuck up your keister or who crapped in your cereal but you just don´t get it. Amazing how one innocent question can cause so much anamosity.  I think there have and always will be disagreements on this site but there is no cause for one on this thread.  Some people are more nastalgic than others.  Seems to me that you are all being a bit rude to eachother...so I am locking this thread.
