I would like administration to explain to me the length of time   my private personal messages are held  in archives EVEN AFTER DELETION. I found out that what we have stored or written in pm´s can be read by administration at any time.  It makes what we write in pm not really pm´s. Now I don´t believe administration has the time to read everyone´s pms but I would like to know this information. As I guess somewhere when we agreed to sign up for TC in small print it said hey we can read or share your pm´s . Also who has the ability to go into our pm´s and read them?

my concern is not about whether they are boring but the fact that I don´t recall it being disclosed at any time that administration could read your pm´s .

also what about private chat´s in the chat room are they also monitored?

I dont want to believe my colorful pms are read by admin

now for sure they will read them  hahaha

I still don´t think this is very legal. Specially the fact that the socalled ´professional admins´ forward our messages to people who have no rights of knowing anything about our private stuff.

I deleted them all but I guess the new ones will still continue to be colorful

They are visible for admins (and their buddies of course) even after deletion.

I don´t think administration ( site owners ) has enough time to read these or most things on here. My question is what about admins helpers. What access do they have. Also private chat room chats are they available the same as chat room chats are. What length of time is information /pm´s etc. kept in archives before it is gone from server?

and what do you do when a site helper has an annoying interest in you and acces to all your private things, and you didn´t know about this, and you don´t want this person to see it.

I never thought admins will read the pms but all these have to be written somewhere!!

A simple logic will tell that

-they have to be written somewhere (ie a db)

-and anything written can be read in technical terms.

- This is the same with your gmail/yahooo etc..

So, no need to be alarmed..Carry on as usual!!

I think the main concern here is who can actually read our pm´s and if they are deleted what is the time duration they remain in the system.

This is a good summary of how message privacy is handled. Nobody has access to anybody else´s private messages through the website. Messages are stored in a database and I am the only person with direct access to the database. Technically I can read them but I don´t. 

One more thing: messages are deleted permanently when both the sender (from sent messages) and the receiver (from inbox) delete it.

forum pms are never completely private. by private it means not displayed in the front page, it doesnt mean private like stored in some underground valut in sweden. overandall nothing you type on the net is really private, not even your skype calls.

  Untill now he probably would not have but as attention has been made of it  now may be curious as to what someone was reffering to . I see someone with a nice coffee and hours ahead relaxing the night away browsing through Kelowna´s messages   ....

no worries there.... he would get a lot of swearing  on mine when I tell idiots I am not interested in them... but turkish swearing so he will be surprised at what I know.

I was asking these question because someone brought the question to me and said it was possible that admin and helpers could read your pm´s.
That is why I asked.  I guess a lot of people deleted their mail now
