There is a difference in lenght of stay for people from different countries, but you still have to pay 15$ or 10euro or 10 pounds (it's 15 dollars because dollar is much cheaper than euro or pound). Cirizens of some countries ( like Americans) can stay with the viza bought at an airport for 3 months, some eg 1 month (like Polish) or even 2 weeks (eg. Ukrainians, if I remember well).
If you want to go for longer than 3/1 month, you must apply for a viza to Turkish embassy.

I guess Greeks are lucky then, huh? We pay nothing to enter Turkia and we need no visa, for a limited period of time of course.

And they even need a visa for islands that are closer to Turkish land than Greek land

You can practically swim to Chios from Çeşme!!

But indeed you're lucky And you can just go for a short time and then travel back to Greek border, and go back again

To clear things up.

You pay £10 pounds at the Airport and you have no problems.

A lot of Brits here stay for 3 months, then go on a day trip to Rhodes every 3 months and get a new one for another 3 months.

I have 5 years residency. I got it here after I arrived and paid my £10.

Do not bother applying for a visa if you want to stay longer than 3 months because when you get here you will be told you have to apply here and pay all the fees again.

The Pasaport Polis have quite a few people in there complaining that they have messed around in England getting a long stay visa and when they have arrived they are told to report to the Polis and when they do they find out they could have paid £10 at the Airport, then just applied for visa here and saved themselves the trouble in England.

Arriving at Ataturk is quite straight forward, get your visa before you go through passport control, the booths are on the left just before passport control - and watch all those people who dont know about it queue up and then get sent back lol (sorry shouldn't laugh!)

Arriving at Ataturk is a different matter when leaving as there is baggage control as soon as you enter the airport and then another couple of time before you get on the plane. But i think this is quite normal for Turkish Airports.
